Akingide Cole: $1.6 Million Venetian Casino Theft Suspect Found At ... Mama's House!?
The guy who allegedly took $1.6 million in chips from the Venetian Hotel's casino did so without using a gun, beating anybody up or even, apparently, having to deal with any employees face-to-face.

No he slipped into a "closed area" of the casino and slipped out like a Bond villain, authorities said. Slick.
But then check out how cops caught up with suspect Akingide Cole of L.A. county (hint: his hideout was not-so-slick):
The 31-year-old was laying low at his mother's house in Southern California last week, according to Las Vegas police.
Authorities, including San Bernardino County and Los Angeles County sheriff's deputies, found $396,000 worth of the chips there, Vegas police said in a statement yesterday.
Cole was taken into custody based on Las Vegas fugitive warrants accusing him of grand larceny, burglary and possession of burglary tools, according to the Vegas department.
An official with Las Vegas Metro Police told the Weekly Cole remained in L.A. County jail today as he awaiting his move to Nevada.

Cops say that on Oct. 25 Venetian security also found a burglary tool used to help take the chips.
He was arrested Oct. 24 based on a tip after media coverage generated interested in the case, Vegas cops say.
(And to pay us reporters back for the help, police waited until yesterday to announce the arrest and, even then, failed to let some of the L.A. media in on the news. Thanks guys!).
In any case, if Cole is the guy, we find it strange that he was so stealthy and successful at stealing from one of the world's top casinos but was so lame in his choice of hiding place:
