Did we say it was fall?

Sorry about that premature declaration. Mother Nature is turning up the heat again for Los Angeles, sending temps to the triple-digit zone for the second time since summer ended Sept. 22.

The four-day heatwave that starts today will peak on Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service, which says:

Weak offshore flow will bring very warm and dry conditions Monday through Thursday. Wednesday could potentially be the hottest day ... when isolated triple digit readings will be possible. The very warm and dry conditions combined with offshore breezes and very dry fuels will bring elevated fire danger to the Southland this week.

Yeah, don't break out your long-sleeve tops just yet.

The service says highs could reach 88 downtown today, 89 Tuesday and 95 Wednesday, with near triple-digit temps in the valleys and places like Burbank.

We're sure fall will be back some day.

This summer is like that one guy who doesn't want to leave a party at the end of the night. Everyone is leaving, but the guy just hangs out and wants to stay, keep having beers but has long overstayed his welcome.
