Justice can be so unjust (let us count the ways ... ). Like when you get a parking or traffic ticket and, irregardless of guilt, must pay up first and debate it later.

B.S., right?

At least the public servants of L.A. are trying to get some of you innocents your money back. The city recently revealed a web page for people to whom it owes cash for bad parking tickets:

The list (check for your name here) includes the names of more than 1,000 folks who haven't received their parking ticket refunds issued from Sept. 1, 2007 through Aug. 31, 2008.

The money adds up to $56,304.23 total but mostly includes small-time, one-off sums. (We spotted only $7 due to one person and more than $150 for others).

Still, it might be worth checking out. (If you're name's on the list, apply for your refund here).

The City Council voted Oct. 9 to put up the list, even though the cash has been laying around long enough that it's slated for the city's general fund.

A Department of Transportation official told us there is no deadline regarding when you can apply for your cash if you're on the list.

So go for it. Free money.
