Christopher Dorner: Anonymous Targets LAPD For Cyberattack

The hacker group Anonymous claims to have taken down the LAPD's website, apparently in retaliation for its treatment of alleged cop killer Christopher Dorner and for its subsequent shootings of two innocents in the hunt for the former L.A. policeman.

The group has been particularly unhappy with the department's shootings early Thursday of two people in a truck somewhat like Dorner's (but which was a different make and color). A separate shooting involved Torrance police and another pickup. And now the group indicates ...

... that Dorner should reach out to the group so it can leak any documents that support his case:

The group claimed success in "Anonymous Operation USA," -- the takedown of the LAPD's website:

But when we checked minutes ago it was up.

LAPD Det. Gus Villanueva told the Weekly he wasn't aware of the site having been down today but says the volume of hits it has received because of the Dorner case has been unusually high and that the department has had to increase the site's bandwidth after it had issues a couple days ago.

The website Breitbart, however, said earlier that "the LAPD's official website does appear to be down, most likely as a result of a Denial of Service attacks."

Here are some of the Anonymous tweets related to the Dorner case:

Exactly, Luie! It hasn't been proven that he's killed anyone. The LAPD however, HAS been proven to be shooting up innocent people and their vehicles.

I know 62 year old man who got all his police records erased, he lived in Los Angeles County. I saw him break two women's necks in 1989. I watched activist Angela Davis lecture about incarnation.

LAPD is so corrupt.  I have no sympathy for them, you reap what you sow.

Innocent until proven guilty. The police said he was a person in question to the killings of the couple. I don't recall them providing any evidence yet confirming he's the killer.

Learn about Anonymous first, what they support and their theories, and then you will understand.

Dude I called it...the unraveling of society as we know it....no faith in our police and the government is trying to disarm us...not a good combination.

Oh lawyers will help those the police shot at? A lot of good that's gonna do the 71 year old lady that was shot who is intensive care with a tube down her throat breathing for her. It's all good right she has a lawyer? Who do you think pays the lawsuit. You and me! But it's ok for police to treat everyone as a criminal until they catch their man?

Joey, their lawyers are sticking up for them. ( comment not intended to justify the police shootings)

What about the cops that almost killed two innocent women delivering papers? Or the Torrance cops that shot up a truck five minutes later? Who's sticking up for them? Shoot first ask questions later. Isnt that what the police are about?

further proof they are douchebags. this guy KILLED people.

Instead of aiding and abetting someone who has allegedly killed 3 people and vowed to go after more these people should be putting their energies elsewhere. Fail.

Things are going for bad to stupid very quickly.

So they support a man who killed two innocents in cold blood and then ambushes a cop? Sick.

iondethrey

@Troy D. Merriman Can you not read? Does THIS sound like he is supported? Murderer or not any information he has will be lost with him if he is killed. What we want is for him to be taken into custody, not SOS which appears to be how the LAPD is operating. I don't agree with the decisions he has made, I don't see him as a hero, but he has opened a long overdue discussion regarding the LAPD and their ongoing corruption and unprofessional behavior.

"
Dormer needs to be placed in custody without being killed. He also may have information he wants leaked; we will leak it if he desires."

I was wondering when "Anonymous" says something.
