Model Brittanie Weaver Finds iPad Upskirt Suspect Herself; He's Court Interpreter

Model Brittanie Weaver says a perv who allegedly used an iPad to take "upskirt" photos of her in a Sherman Oaks pet store Friday afternoon "picked the wrong girl."

She's right: The 22-year-old told the Weekly today she tracked the suspect down herself.

Yep. The man in question was wearing an ID badge around his neck when she caught him aiming an iPad up her skirt:

Oops.

She says the badge ID'd him as a court interpreter. After looking up court interpreters online, Weaver says she found the creep.

An LAPD detective was working on tracking down and arresting a suspect as we spoke, Weaver said. She did not want to reveal the guy's ID until he was arrested.

The incident happened Friday at 1:15 p.m. at the Puppy and Me on Ventura Boulevard, Weaver said:

I just thought he was annoying following me around the store. I didn't know until I got to the counter that he had been filming up my dress. I looked down and he knew he was caught. He said, 'Can I pet your dog.' But he was already petting my dog. I could tell by his face he knew he had been caught. I tried to write a note to the girl at the counter. He left and we looked at surveillance video and it confirmed our suspicion.

Because her mother was a victim of sexual assault, Weaver says she was raised to be extra guarded about her body. Plus, she says, she's been extra-protective about her modeling, careful not to cross a line that she said could ruin a career.

And thus, the guy was doomed:

It's hard to keep a clean image in this industry. That's why I take it personally.

Even if the suspect is arrested, Weaver says she's not done with this case: She is concerned that what he allegedly did would only amount to a misdemeanor, "improper conduct," because California law might not cover it as a suspected sex crime.

She wants the law to catch up with technology, and she's willing to lobby Sacramento for it.

Stay tuned.

It seems like she's exploiting this story for publicity. I don't condone what that pervert did, but I don't think it's right to use a crime like this to promote your modeling and acting career. What kind of a victim gives sexy pictures of themselves, their real name, and their Twitter handle out to reporters after being victimized?

@blueflybird This story won't make any difference to her career. And we need to make ALL of these stories public, over and over and over and over untill the public finally gets the idea that it's something that happens to nice girls, adult girls, little girls, girls that do NOT want this to happen.

@ronnie5034

what an asinine series of comments. Uh, NO -- pervy photos of the panties unsuspecting women are NOT legal - are you insane?!

I am utterly sick of hearing ppl downplay sexual harassment of women like it's no big deal. "Naked for the camera" -- really? Besides not even being remotely true (swimwear is not naked, dickhead) since when does a model not have any say over when and where her image is used?

She gets paid to model. She does not want some creep wanking over or selling photos surreptitiously taken *without her consent* - wow, you clearly have a comprehension issue if you cannot discern the vast difference.

What an ass you are!  Are you surprised you are single with those backwards and contemptuous attitudes?  Ugh.
