The epic, cross-country relay, called One Run for Boston, starts in Venice at 10 a.m. tomorrow and will travel 3,300 miles via more than 800 runners to Boston where it will wrap up the night of June 30:
Three friends from the United Kingdom -- Kate Treleaven, Danny Bent and Jamie Hay -- are behind the relay, which include $25-entry-fee group stages and $50 individual stages.
So far they've raised more than $36,000 for Boston's The One Fund.
Runners can wear a GPS Ninja Tracking device to let their friends know where they are on the map.
One Run for Boston is a chance for runners to come together and show solidarity in a really dynamic way. It's a chance to be part of something remarkable, to demonstrate the strength of the human spirit and send a powerful message of support to the city of Boston and those whose lives were changed on April 15.
