L.A. County coroner's investigators say Whitney Houston drowned when she died at the Beverly Hilton hotel last month. LA Weekly was the first outlet to report that she might have been found in a bathtub, which she was.

The coroner also says that cocaine and atherosclerotic heart disease were contributing factors to her death.

The find on Main Street between Sunset and Rose avenues was reported to the LAPD by paramedics about 5:55 p.m., Officer Bruce Borihanh told the Weekly tonight.

A middle-aged man's body was found along a bike bath in Chatsworth, and coroner's officials are asking for your help with identification.

The find was made about 7:15 p.m. on June 23 near Devonshire Street and Canoga Avenue along the Brown's Creek Bike Path, according to our reading of a coroner's statement.

But so far, it appears, no one has come forward to claim the body or to say that a loved one with a similar description is missing. Here's what we do know about the man:

Jonas Bevacqua's Autopsy Inconclusive; LRG Co-Founder's Death Will Be Determined by Toxicology Test

The sudden death of well-loved LRG clothing co-founder Jonas Bevacqua at his Laguna Beach home yesterday has left many friends and fans wondering how a lively 33-year-old could be here one night, then gone the next morning.

The Orange County Coroner completed an autopsy on Bevacqua's body this morning to help answer that question. However, a watch commander tells the LA Weekly that the autopsy was "inconclusive," and that the coroner is now relying on a toxicology test to determine Bevacqua's cause of death.

Lee Harvey Oswald's Family is Suing LA Auction House Nate D. Sanders for Selling Assassin's Coffin

Last month, an LA auction house sold Lee Harvey Oswald's coffin and other embalming items for more than $160,000.

Oswald's brother, Robert Edward Lee Oswald, says he called the auction house and told them that it was not theirs to sell and that he wanted the items, which he claimed were stolen by a Texas funeral home, returned to the family to be destroyed.

Still, Oswald says, the Beverley Hills auction house, Nate D. Sanders, went ahead with the sale. So now Oswald is suing the auction house and the funeral parlor.

Luxury came at a price for the family of two-year-old Lucas Anthony Tang last night. The Garden Grove toddler took a fatal 50 30-foot fall (a roughly five three-story drop) from the family's suite seats in the Staples Center around 11 p.m. at about 9 p.m., just after the Los Angeles Lakers won their game to the Golden State Warriors 117-89.

Mummified Babies: No Signs Of Trauma

A preliminary autopsy of the two 1930s era mummified babies -- found last week in the basement of a Westlake apartment building -- has turned up no signs of trauma and no clues as to cause of death, The Times reports.

The apartment's owner discovered an old trunk containing the remains last week. There were two doctor bags inside the trunk with the skeletal remains wrapped in old Los Angeles Times newspapers dated 1933 and 1935. Investigators also found a ticket stub from the 1932 Olympic Games in the trunk.

The death of Silver Lake's "Walking Man," Marc Abrams, was ruled a suicide, county coroner's officials said Monday.

"The cause of death was drowning, noted as a suicide," coroner's Lt. Cheryl MacWillie told the Weekly. Abrams was found Wednesday in a hot tub. The lid was on the tub when he was discovered, she said.

Mummified Body Found In East Los Angeles Could Be Remains Of A Man Who Went Missing 5 Years Ago

Construction workers remodeling a back house this week found mummified remains of a body under the East Los Angeles residence, according to the Associated Press. Los Angeles County officials say that the remains could be of the owner of the house who was reportedly missing in 2005.

The house has been vacant for five years.

The body of a West Hollywood man who jumped off Venice Pier early on the morning of July 5 washed up on a Santa Monica beach over the weekend, authorities said.

Thirty-one-year-old Brian Patrick Dunn was reportedly drunk when he dove into cold water and high surf after 2 a.m. following the 4th of July holiday. His body was discovered about 8:20 a.m. Sunday near the 2300 block of Ocean Front Walk, county lifeguard Terry Hearst said. The body was identified as Dunn's later in the day.

Teen Girl Who Died After Attending 'EDC' Rave Likely Took Ecstasy

The 15-year-old girl who died after attending last month's Electric Daisy Carnival rave took one dose of ecstasy, according to people close to the girl or her friends. One friend told LA Weekly that Sasha Rodriguez took one ecstasy pill and then collapsed.

Another young woman reports that a friend who was with Rodriguez on June 25th said pretty much the same thing via a Facebook posting. This comes as the county Board of Supervisors on Tuesday was considering a motion to create a rave task force that would weigh whether to restrict the size and hours of such events.

Autopsy On Body Of Teen Who Died After Attending 'EDC' Rave Completed; Results Deferred

An autopsy on the 15-year-old girl who died after attending an Exposition Park rave was completed this week but the results were "deferred," a county coroner's official told the Weekly.

Sasha Rodriguez died at Los Angeles hospital Tuesday after she attended the two-day Electric Daisy Carnival event over the weekend. Drug intoxication was suspected. Coroner's Lt. David Smith said an autopsy was performed Thursday but results wouldn't be released until a toxicology test was completed. That could take up to three months, he said.

Head Of Double Homicide Victim Found In Long Beach Park

The head of a young Orange County man who was allegedly killed by a stage actor was found this weekend in a Long Beach park, police said. We told you Friday about the deaths of 26-year-old Samuel Eliezer Herr, whose body was dismembered, and his friend, 23-year-old Irvine resident Juri Julie Kibuishi, who was lured to her death via text messages from Herr's phone, police say. OC Weekly has this shocking statement from Costa Mesa police: "This morning, after two three days of searching, search teams at El Dorado Park in Long Beach located the missing severed head of Costa Mesa homicide victim Samual Herr. "

The suspect in the case, stage actor Daniel Patrick Wozniak, 26, was under arrest. The motive, authorities indicated, might have been $2,000 withdrawn from Herr's bank account via ATM. More from OC Weekly.

Man, Possibly Mentally Ill, Dies After L.A. Police Open Fire In North Hills

A man died Thursday after he was shot by Los Angeles police in North Hills, authorities said. The deceased, described as someone in his 20s, might have been mentally ill.

Officers were called to the area of Burnet Avenue near Roscoe Boulevard and opened fire about 12:30 p.m., said Officer April Harding of the Los Angeles Police Department. Authorities were dispatched based on a report of a mentally ill person in the area, according to Los Angeles police Officer Rosario Herrera.

L.A. City Budget Honcho Pleads No Contest To DUI

In one of the stranger sideshows in city politics, Los Angeles budget chief Miguel Santana was arrested on suspicion for drunk driving in March after had imbibed at a fundraiser for county District Attorney Steve Cooley -- the man whose office would later levy DUI charges against the numbers cruncher.

What's more, Santana was embroiled in an epic battle over the city's multi-hundred-million-dollar deficit that could still see thousands of city jobs cut. Santana was a straight numbers man who indicated that major, structural cuts were needed. The timing was eery. On Tuesday the chief administrative officer at City Hall pleaded no contest to misdemeanor driving under the influence of alcohol, the District Attorney's Office announced.

Homicides In L.A. Continue To Outpace 2009 Rate

Homicides in Los Angeles continued to outpace the numbers for the same time in 2009, according to the Los Angeles Police Department's latest CompStat figures. The spread between '09 and today, however, narrowed to a small, 1.8 percent increase.

Through May 22, 115 homicides were reported in the city; at the same time last year that number was 113. The union representing Los Angeles police set off warning alarms last week when the spread was greater -- 111 compared to 102.
