An aspiring underage model from Colorado has gone missing after spending time in Venice, but folks in the know say she might have been spotted in Southern California today, not long after her car was found in the beach community yesterday.

A source close to the family of Raven Cassidy Furlong told the Weekly that police are checking out tips that the 17-year-old who went missing from her Aurora home Feb. 5 might have been spotted in the San Bernardino County town of Yucaipa:

Cops were searching for a missing 21-year-old, Elisa Lam, who came to Los Angeles from Vancouver as a tourist. Unfortunately, investigators believe that her case is "suspicious" and might involve "foul play," according to an LAPD statement.

She ended up in a sketchy part of downtown and stayed in a Skid Row adjacent hotel, the circa-1927 Cecil, that has tried to cater to Euro-tourists instead of the quasi-homeless that frequent many of the old single-room occupancy businesses in the area:

Cops tonight were on the lookout for UCLA honors student David John Goeser, whose family says needs medication and hasn't been seen since Sunday.

The 22-year-old's 2001 white Toyota Corolla was found near Los Liones Drive and Sunset Boulevard in Pacific Palisades, according to what the LAPD told City News Service.

A young children's book illustrator and graphic artist from Los Angeles has gone missing after taking off for a hike in Runyon Canyon on Sunday afternoon.

Brandon Thomas Olterman, 26, is currently being sought by the LAPD's Missing Persons Unit. "If anyone knows & has heard from children's book illustrator Brandon Olterman please let me know," says a friend and fellow artist on Twitter. "He was lost in Runyon Canyon yesterday -- and no one has heard from him since."

Two students missing in Woodland Hills

Two students last seen "leaving for school" at 7:20 a.m. (but never quite making it) yesterday morning in a gold 1996 Mercedes-Benz still haven't turned up at school, or otherwise.

The Afghani boys, 17-year-old Yousef Akbari and 14-year-old Amin Najib, are enrolled at El Camino Real High School, a high-income, high-performing LAUSD campus that has wormed its way into the news more than any other in 2011.
