My endangered species story is up here. There's a Web only sidebar, too; link's at the end.

Have a Happy Thanksgiving. (Only 25 people saw that link last year. So I'm recycling.)

We will have to find balance between environmental protection and right to a decent life. It is big moral dilemma: humans first or nature? I have never covered such story in my environment blog Greendiary (www.greendiary.com). I will keep a close watch on your environment coverage. For article ideas.

Thanks; I'll take a look at your blog.

I do think the comparison might be a false one, conveniently set up to undermine species protection; as nature goes, so do we.

Maybe.

Keep me posted on what your come up with.

One watchdog group calls Pombo one of the most corrupt of all members in Congress today. You quoted McCloskey as saying Pombo has vast land holdings in the district. Do you have any idea how much is he profiting from the current water rights arrangement, and how much he could profit from the bill allowing property owners to file claims under the takings provision?

I haven't done that math myself, but it's possible someone has, somewhere. Let's find out. I would be worthwhile to get some idea of the dollar figures on Pombo's potential benefit from all this stuff.
