Was it something I said?

Early last week I posted a brief blog noting the appearance of those "Obama Socialism" posters, in which the president's face is made up to resemble Heath Ledger's Joker character from The Dark Knight. That Batman-film derived image had been Photoshopped by Firas Khateeb, but up until July hadn't appeared as any sort of guerilla art. When the picture was first reported as having been pasted on Los Angeles freeway structures (the public gallery of choice for street artists and taggers) it generated a firestorm of controversy. The outrage extended to L.A. Daily, which received more than 120,000 hits within the week on this subject - a high number for a short post on an alternative newspaper blog. I was soon on the receiving end of hundreds of comments to L.A. Daily - for days my Inbox was chiming every few seconds.

The outrage wasn't about the poster's content -- most of the comments were attacks on me for saying the image appealed to conservatives: I didn't have a sense of humor; I was rubbing people's faces in race when race had nothing to do with the poster; I had said nothing when the L.A. Weekly featured a cover image of George W. Bush with vampire fangs, etc. The most interesting aspect of this is how often anti-Obama commentators accused me and anyone else whose remarks displeased them as playing some kind of race card. In fact, all I did was accurately point out that Obama was in white face. True, my description of the poster ended with, "All that's missing is a noose." However - to use the thinking of the anti-Obama crowd - my crack about the missing noose didn't necessarily refer to this country's history of lynching blacks. It could have simply implied a Blue State desire to see the president strung up - metaphorically, of course.

To be honest, though, I do believe the poster appeals to people who see in it a validation of their own racial prejudices, even if they can't acknowledge them. That my short post hit such a deep, raw nerve clearly shows that race was very much part of the illustration's attraction. Denials that the poster has any racial overtones join that endless parade of self-deluding apologies and clarifications presented by Republicans about the Birth of a Nation imagery they've been employing ever since Obama ran for president.

There was the president of the Inland Republicans women's group who sent out a newsletter featuring a "food stamp" depicting, as the Riverside Press-Enterprise said, "Obama's head on a donkey's body surrounded by a bucket of KFC chicken, a slice of watermelon, a slab of barbecued ribs and a pitcher of Kool-Aid." (A tableau, ironically, that was originally created by a Democrat to illustrate Republicans' malarial fears of a black president.) Then there were the ubiquitous No Easter Egg Hunt This Year e-mail card showing the White House lawn as a field of watermelons. And who can ever forget Rush Limbaugh's favorite ditty, "Barack the Magic Negro"?

More recently, in the immediate wake of the Henry Louis Gates dustup, Boston cop Justin Barrett sent out a mass email in which he described the Harvard professor as a "banana-eating jungle monkey." Barrett, of course, later claimed he didn't intend for the imagery to be taken in a racist way. You really don't know which is the scarier prospect: That he is glibly lying, or that he honestly believes this. Barrett managed, however, to get defensive about the outrage his email unleashed: "People are making it about race," said Barrett. "It is not about race."

No, dude, it's all about race. Racial anxiety and racism are social pathologies that adapt to changing conditions and evolve over time. Conservatives don't burn crosses at their rallies - contemporary political theater and its language have moved on with the times. Still, I remember that even back in the days when cross burnings were in vogue -- and when it seemed that civil rights workers were being killed every month in the Deep South -- even then you would rarely find a segregationist proclaiming, on television at least, that he was a racist and believed blacks were inferior. Instead, the racist argument was usually couched in terms of "state's rights," "mutual benefits," of how Negroes themselves didn't want race-mixing, that they were basically good, hard-working people who were being duped by Communists.

Kelefa Sanneh recently noted in the New Yorker that "to some Americans 'racism' doesn't mean what it used to." He meant that a popular definition of racism no longer describes the unemotional systemic discrimination against blacks, but to the "reverse racism" commonly referenced by rightwing pundits alluding to the mere dislike of whites by individual blacks.

The truth, again, is that the fears of the art lovers who champion the Obama Socialism poster are all about race - about losing their skin privileges, about the possible airing of old crimes and grievances committed against blacks. How else can you explain the mad surge to buy guns, to deny Obama's American birth, the teary prediction that the White House is ordering up concentration camps, and the rock-solid belief that Obama's lab-coated bureaucrats are coming to kill our grandmas? Who's the real Joker here? And whose deck is that race card being played from?

It's not about left or right, black or white.. 99% of Republican and Democrat politicians are working for the banksters that own the federal reserve (which is a private family business, and not a reserve) Alex Jones who promoted a contest with these posters is definitely not racist. He is a patriot that fights for our human and civil rights. He has made anti-Bush / anti-NWO documentaries that make Bush look even worse. Thanks for covering this topic and giving people a chance to think about what these posters are really about... Which was a campaign to draw attention, and publicity against socialist/communist plans of the banksters. (Even though the writer tries to twist peoples opinions into thinking this is about race.)

AnglePark says:

Race? So the pictures of Bush made up as the Joker or Hitler -- were they about race? Or the picture of John Kerry as the Joker... race? Why is it that when a white man is "defaced" it's OK, but when a black man is defaced it's all about race?

And, is Obama black or white? His father was black, and his mother white, so is he black or white? If you deny either heritage, aren't you being racist to the other side? If you deny he's white, aren't you being racist?

I think he's American, period. The real problem is the continuation of labeling ourselves by color, but that will never change.

And as far as calling America a horrible country, can you name a better country? If so, why aren't you there? America certainly has its problems, but there's nowhere I'd rather plant myself.

No one could possibly be opposed to Obama because he is a rather goofy narcissist of mediocre intelligence with a great line of BS who has done more to destroy individual freedom in 6 months than Bush-Cheney did in 8 years. Steve, the dreck you wrote is simply laughable, as you have no strong argument for your conclusion that the poster is primarily racist in nature. As they say, racism is in the eye of the beholder. Steve, sounds to me like you have a guilty conscience.

And Crys - funnny!

John says:

The reason there was such backlash from the poster supporters about the accusals of racism is not due to the fact that everyone is a racist and doesn't want to admit it. The raw deep nerve is the anger at the mainstream media crying racism as a sound bite and having the original message lost on the sheep that watch TV. That its about right wing racists putting Obama in white face when its really comparing Obama to a lunatic. The Joker (who he is being portrayed as) has a white face for chrissakes. So if he didn't put him in white make-up it wouldn't be very effective would it?

This was the elites plan, to use the controlled hype of Obama to carry out their globalization schemes, and the second we catch wind of it and call him out, we're deemed racists. They're very good at psychological tactics. And this article is just another piece of piece of crap info out there that links this movement to race. Shame on you. Think for yourself.

How quick you are to jump to the conclusion that they must be making claims about race, surely not the failings of such an embarassment of a president Obama is! To think that this man is doing such a good job that they have to attack him based on race is ridiculous and egocentric. There are so many other valid reasons to hate Barak Obama, why bother with something as superficial and insignificant as race?

If "race" is the conclusion you're coming up with as to why people are putting up these posters then you must really have no insight whatsoever, which, as an editoralist such as yourself should be one of your more honed traits.

The poster is obviously NOT about race and trying to convince yourself and others that it is will only give you a headache and snickers from sane people aroound you.

The funny thing about the poster is that it IS NOT a picture of OBAMA, it may look a bit like him to YOU but THAT IS NOT HIM.
The hairline, eyes, mouth, nose and ears are NOT Obamas.
This art is a joke not because it depicts the joker but because it calls out people assumptions.
The joke is on the left, who started ranting racism, the difference between Obama's policies and The JOker's alledged policies. Socialist are offended, anarchist are offended, people who proclaim themselves civil rights leaders are offended.
This piece of social art is the most brilliant piece i've ever seen

Look, i'm sure Barry's a heck of a guy, would be a good neighbor, and would be fun to have a beer with (well, except when sitting down discussing race issues). But a large majority of people are opposed to his views. that's insane! I know, right?

Keep fighting, and don't let the liberals hijack it and make it all about race!

If the Joker character had a green face and the satire Obama Joker character poster had a green face on it, would it be racist?

Charles R. Williams says:

The Obama-Joker poster is about the contrast between how Obama sold himself and what his agenda turns out to be. Race is aesthetically relevant to the poster but that doesn't make it racist. There is a phony white face and a huge phony red smile superimposed on a black face and unexpressive lips. The poster would not be so effective if Obama were Nordic. The joker is an evil man and it turns out that Obama is evil (=socialist). Now you may not agree that Obama's agenda is far left and you may not agree that socialism is a grave threat to our country. But we can argue about the message of the poster without insulting the people who agree with its message.

lurker says:

You admit you think this is a racial image, yet offer no proof of it. (we'll leave aside your attempt to weasel out of it by saying that your "noose" comment was neutral).

Your sole argument? He's wearing white makeup...you know, like the joker. Of course you ignore the image's tagline "Why so socialist?" which would explain why Nobama is linked with the Joker. And, of course, can't explain why equating Bush with the joker previously is not grevious but this is.

Then you bring up a number of unrelated examples of racism by individuals unconnected with the image---and try to use those to "prove" racism. Some you don't even prove are "republican" or VRC or whatever your paranoia of the moment is.

And then you blame all hatred of Nobama on racism. Gee, the fact that the man is a radical left-wing zealout who's been caught lying more times and with the most corrupt organization in Presidential history behind him has nothing to do with it? The fact that he's trying to ram legislation through and demand people not read it? And your only proof is 3 (3!) isolated instances of individuals (re: not groups) making racially-charged attacks, one of which was not against Nobama but against a race-baiting black guy?

lol. Perhaps among your starbucks-drinking set that counts as an argument; in big boy and girl land, its just an empty tirade.

Why so socialist?

The Monster says:

And who can ever forget Rush Limbaugh's favorite ditty, "Barack the Magic Negro"?

Which is based on an LA Times columnist referring to him thus. If you actually listen to the song, you understand what it's all about. As hard as it is to believe now, there were actually black folks who said then-Senator Obama wasn't "black enough", because he doesn't have any slave blood (his African relatives obviously were never brought to the New World in chains, his American relatives are white, some of whom might even have owned slaves) and might not be "down with the struggle". Obama responded by fabricating a story about how Selma inspired his parents to get together and make a baby.... four years before Selma. Oops.

But why bother getting your facts straight, when you can construct your "ransom note" from a few words taken here and there, completely devoid of context. You have your narrative (RethugliKKKans are racists!!!!!111eleventy) and you'll cherry-pick whatever you can to prop it up.

Terry Hughes says:

The term "magic negro" was not created or even first popularized by Rush Limbaugh. Spike Lee popularized the term, deriding the archetype of the "super-duper magical negro" in 2001 while discussing films with students at Washington State University and at Yale. The magical negro (sometimes called the mystical negro or magic negro) is a supporting, often mystical stock character in fiction who, by use of special insight or powers, helps the white protagonist get out of trouble. Limbaugh argued that was exactly how some of Obama's supporters were presenting their candidate during the campaign. The word negro, now considered by many as archaic and offensive, was used intentionally by Lee to suggest that the archetype is a racist throwback, an update of the "Sambo" and "savage other" stereotypes.

Limbaugh's point in deploying the "Barack The Magic Negro" song was at bottom the same as Spilke Lee's point (although not in a context in which Lee was likely to agree in public): For Obama's supporters to argue that special insight comes with race is itself a dangerous, racist, condescending approach posing as anti-racism. A reprise can be found in what might be called Sonia Sotomayor's "Magic Latina" speeches in which she claimed repeatedly and in many contexts that a "wise Latina" should make a better judge, a claim she repudiated before the Senate. One can either agree or disagree with the belief that race or the "rich experience" that supposedly comes only with certain racial backgrounds brings special insight. But Spike Lee sees the negative side of this approach in some contexts and popularized the "magic negro" term in those contexts, and Limbaugh was more than willing to apply Lee's insights in political contexts where Lee might not agree.

Casually listing the "Magic Negro" song as yet one more supposed example of racist imagery is just obtuse, ignorant nonsense ... and grossly dismissive of Spike Lee's brilliant insights.

You've got to wonder, at what point will the liberals' constant demonization of white people, men particularly, become a detriment to their party. You can't actively discriminate against a demographic and use them as a scapegoat forever. They will eventually lose support from whites if this racial politicking continues. Honestly, it seems now that any opposition to anything this president says or does is immediately deemed racist. It's as bad and as low as I've seen politics sink in my life. If everything is racist, then nothing is racist. Think about it. And how does a person get a job writing for a major publication who has such low personal character? Do you get paid for this? Completely off the wall. So, if I protest about something then that validates what I was protesting? Is that your logic? Why must the left throw out racism at the drop of a hat? I think the posters are worthless and I certainly don't admire them, but do not for a minute ascribe racism to them. You in the liberal left need to get a grip and understand that there are many who oppose Obama for his policies not his race. The liberal left was rabid in attacking Bush, your publication certainly included, and now seem to find fault with anything that does not toe your personal line. Give it up, you are part of the problem, not part of the cure. Your blundering articles only inflame, not help understand.

Maybe Mr. Mikulan is not one of those "cowardly Americans" the Obama Administration was talking about. Maybe he is advancing a "dialogue" about race that is helpful: Criticize Obama, you're a racist. It's a nice gig, I guess, because you have set yourself up as the sole arbiter of what passes for "acceptable" political dialogue.

rwisher says:

At the risk of walking over worn ground let me try to explain this why this poster grabbed people's attention.

1. It isn't about race. If you look, the word "socialism" is written across the bottom. It is there for a reason. Americans, if you know your history, have always disliked other people telling them what to do. The whole, "go west young man" push to settle the west was driven by people wanting to free themselves of the biases, rules and regulations put upon them by the "Eastern elites." By and large, Americans are a cranky lot, and someone acting like they know everything rubs them the wrong way.

2. Obama as a joker means two things to many people- 1. He's a liar, and 2. He is somehow trying to disassemble society as we know it.
Both fears are founded in the actions and words of Obama himself and the people he surrounds himself with. He's the one who thinks people are stupid enough to believe he can install a healthcare plan that covers everybody AND save money. He has made comments in the past that show he is trying to pull a fast one on the public. Americans have access to the Internet, television, radio, emails, not to mention possess a memory of what they saw and heard. The effort to change history by simply denying it smacks of certain regimes in our world's past. Another reason to distrust him. It's his fault. He thought he could push through the wholesale change onto a nation of three hundred million, and we'd take it without complaint. A sure sign of narcissism, and something everyone mistrusts.

For you not to see this means you are spending way too much time within your own bubble. To make this about race is a "cop out" to use an old seventies slang. This is about cranky Americans protecting their way of life from a man who can't seem to find his way to being honest with the people he is supposed to serve.

See, simple.

No president before this man has ever promoted such things in such degree. If you go to a Town Hall meeting and express your opposition to health care "reform," then you must be part of a mob and carrying a swastika according to Nancy Pelosi. The fact is, you're nothing more than a leftist knee-jerk reactionary who probably spouted the trite "Bush lied and people died" rhetoric. If the author is old enough to remember the tumult of the 60's, perhaps he's too old to see anything but race as an issue himself...he has not grown up in an era with the preponderance of diversity that I (born in 1969) and those younger than me have. I have had Black, Asian, Gay and Female friends, bosses, teachers, roommates my entire life. In fact, I was uncomfortable the first few months when I left NYC for college in Ohio because there were so many Whites and so little diversity that it kind of freaked me out at first.

Just as Revs. Wright, Jackson and Sharpton grew up in an era of race as a defining issue, so did Clarence Thomas, Condoleezza Rice, Alberto Gonzalez and Linda Chavez and yet they have not used race as a crutch (and to call them "race-traitors" or "Uncle Toms" most certainly is a racist tactic - they must, by nature of their race or heritage think a certain way and are not allowed to be individuals with their own conclusions and ideas and experiences?).

The poster was stupid and illogical considering (despite what some liberal groups believe) anarchy and socialism do not go hand in hand. But we have a long history of citizens mocking our elected leaders. That won't change just because we elected a black guy, nor should it. In addition, there are the comments here, reiterating the tired non-criticisms of Bush, some of which are far more disturbing than the Joker poster or anything that has been said directly about Obama.

I actually find it quite amusing. Keep playing the racism card if you like, but no one is buying it except people on the far left. Everyone else sees it for what it is: a rather silly and meaningless criticism of Obama on par with what much of the political left issued during Bush's eight years, and far less offensive than some of what the left said during those years.

He is promoting disparaging charges about people (implying they are racists) based on their skin color. He has no evidence of racist motives of the people that made the poster or racist motives of the people to which it appeals. But he makes the charge nevertheless. He just makes the assumption that they are white (which is statistically probable enough based on Obama's high popularity among blacks) and then changes conservatives with racism. That's racist behavior. The author is a racist.

The closest thing he has to [gasp] "evidence" is examples of racism among whites(some very questionable examples). He would never make the charge if the people surrounding the poster were likely black. He's basing his disparaging remarks on their race. Again, that's racist. The author is a racist.

Then the federal excise tax on cigarettes increased April 1, 2009 by 156 percent (or 61 cents per pack).

What's up with that?

His pledge to close Gitmo..What a Joke!!

His Pledge to get us out of Iraq? What a joke!

His pledge of Bipartisanship? What a joke!

Now he advocates government run health care in the U.S. .... I don't think I can believe him any more.

It is not about race...it is about being fooled by Obama's grandiose promises.

Welcome Back Carter!!!!

Floydman says:

It seems to me that your basic argument in you article breaks down into two points:

1. If you disagree with President Obama you are a racist. As proof of that you offer examples of racists who disaprove of President Obama (of course racists disaprove of him...I am sure that racists disaprove of Justice Thomas, does that mean that all who disapprove of Justice Thomas are racist?)

2. When those who disagree with President Obama are called racist and the 'guilty' persons argue that they are not racist and you are just using the race card against them, that proves that they are racist. As proof of that you offer the example of racists that argue that they are not racist.

To prove that all who disagree with President Obama are racist you offer examples of racists, and then generalize their racism to the group who disagree with President Obama. Does that make you guilty of stereotyping (a very racist thing to do, wouldn't you say)?

To argue that a poster that does to President Obama what was done to GWBush is racist is a tactic to deny conservatives the artistic expression available to 'progressives' (and, by the way, have you stated that the New York Times picture of Mr Steele, the African American chairman of the RNC, painted up as a clown was a racist depiction of him in white face?).

To argue that if a person defends against the accusation of racism proves that person is a racist is logic that does not compute with me.

I disagree with most of President Obama's ideas. In my opinion, he is the same as Jimmy Carter. I dont care at all about the color of either man's skin, I am judging him by the content of his character.

From my opinion, can you guess the color of my skin?

They also talk about people wanting to assassinate Obama, while no Republican has said anything to even suggest harming that jacka$$. The truth is Obama is in a deep hole, his polls are dropping rapidly and the only way the left media can hold on to him is to portray his oppostion as racist violent potential killers. AS FOR THE "MAGIC NEGRO" song that this writer IGNORANTLY attached to Rush Limbaugh-A LIBERAL CREATED AND SANG THAT SONG DURING THE PRIMARIES! A Hillary Clinton supporter was the one to put that out there, Rush just played it after picking up on it on the radio waves. Bush was pulled apart for 8 years! His image was mutilated in every way possilbe. There was even a poster with a gun to his head that said WANTED DEAD OR ALIVE-with a giant X over the ALIVE part. Bush was a vampire, Nazi, Hitler, Joker, the list goes on. Liberal hypocrisy sickens me and what's even worse is those that don't even see it.

Chris says:

"In fact, all I did was accurately point out that Obama was in white face."

No. Obama was in Joker face. You can't do Joker face without white makeup. You apparently know little about movie or comic book history. The original DC Comics back-story for the Joker was that he had fallen into a vat of chemicals that bleached his skin white. Keep in mind that before this, the Joker was Caucasian. But, it bleached his skin even lighter than that. So, Joker make-up is definitely not intended to make one look like a Caucasian; rather, it is to make someone look as if they have no skin pigment at all. Some call it Albino. Albino is a CONDITION, not a race, you see. You are the one going off what the artist intended and bringing race into it. The Joker has nothing to do with race.

You see racism because that's what you want to see. Why is that?

It's like the wife who is always accusing the husband of cheating...

Steven Mikulan,

If anyone's a racist here, it's you for even bringing it up at all. Because you are too stupid to grasp this simple concept, let me help you out. Obama is a socialist joker. That is the meaning of this poster, plain and simple. It is not racist imagery, no matter how much *you* want it to be. The so-called whiteface is nothing of the kind, but it is the Joker's clown makeup, because after all, Obama is a clown himself. If he were white or asian or hispanic, he'd still be a clown and a socialist clown at that. Hence the poster. Connect the dots 1-2-3, it's that simple, but obviously too complex for the likes of you.

Ultimately, it is you who are overly concerned with race, it is you who is feverishly trying to race bait and it is you who is proving himself to be the real racist here. You are a hatemonger and a bigot, but most of all you're an Obama lapdog, you POS. That's what you are. Go ahead, make what I just said about you a racial issue, scumbag.

They were desperate to defeat it. Thats the facts jack. The Republican party was founded on ending slavery. It is the anti-slavery party. Democrats fought the civil rights act and the voting rights acts. And they have convinced them selves they are the saviours of the black man. They continue to discriminate against non-whites with the low expectations of affirmative action which makes black doctors second class because they did not have to study as hard as a white student to get the same grade. Now that is some racism. And here's a whole new anti-Obama ornithology poster for the Weekly to get all upset, hot and bother about:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/sgtkey0811/3802078039/in/set-72157621720095249/

And there's more and more popping up with each passing hour.

"How else can you explain the mad surge to buy guns, to deny Obama's American birth, the teary...."

Well why else is because many Americans dislike the ideas of the left (to follow government as a religion).

\Give it up Dude! Here is a great example. I look like a skinhead... no really, you can see for yourself at my site linked to my name. However, if you go to Google Video and type in these words: "Obamacon Twenty Years" as part of your search words (a 34-minute documentary I did on "Black Liberation Theology"), you find that my mom had a black mother and a white father, that I grew up in an all-black neighborhood (I was the "white-friend," all my friends were black), and when I moved from Detroit to North Hollywood, I started the NH chapter of S.H.A.R.P.

So it is about race... the politically correct/multi-cultural aspect found on the Left. (BOOKS) Read some Thomas Sowell, read some Walter Williams, read some Larry Elder, read some Shelby Steele, read some David Barton. Get out of your racist cocoon and evolve buddy. It isn't all about race except when the Left makes it all about race -- second tier thinking dude.

"How else can you explain the mad surge to buy guns, to deny Obama's American birth, the teary prediction that the White House is ordering up concentration camps, and the rock-solid belief that Obama's lab-coated bureaucrats are coming to kill our grandmas?"

Wow, you are a MORON. How can the above be explained? You think all of that is about race? Let me explain it slowly. People... don't... like... his... POLICIES! Did you ever consider that angle?

If we do not exercise them we will LOSE THEM!

It used to be that "dissent is patriotic". Now, it is clear to me that "dissent is racist."

I believe that anyone looking at the poster and think it is racist do so because they, themselves, are racist.

Wow, I am amazed at how a news paper can even print such garbage. So much for facts it is all about opinion of which it seems that a vast majority of do not rely on facts but more of an emotional status that encouraged by those criminals of justice called the elected.

It goes to show how closely party lines are followed regardless of the truth of things. Obama couldn't put together an easy fit snap tight model let alone a country. He is a fool and people that voted for him are bigger fools. But what do you expect from people who think what is mine is theirs and what is theirs is theirs.

Gekkobear says:

Finally vindication for you. The Racist has been Identified; so you can prove the poster was all about a racist white man believing that a black man should not be president.

http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/washington/2009/08/obama-joker-artist.html

This racist is the notorious white-power KKK Kleagle... um... Firas Alkhateeb?

That doesn't sound likely. I mean, he doesn't have a very... um... Caucasian sounding name.

"Though born in the United States, his Palestinian family closely follows Middle Eastern politics."

Oh, of course. We all know how Palestinians hate people with Arabic sounding names. Clearly this explains everything.

BWAHAHAHAHA... anyone care to walk back the "racist" claims yet?

Firas Alkhateeb might say he has a "funny sounding name" that doesn't sound like the people you might have expected for this position... you know, like Obama's election speeches.

And since you clearly disapprove of his actions; you must be racist for your disapproval of a minority... right? That is how it works at this newspaper; isn't it?

Disapprove of a minority, get branded a racist. This has got to be such a letdown.

But go ahead, square the circle. Explain how this is "all about race" now. Or go skulk away and accept that your race baiting and racialism of this has failed miserably taking your credibility with it.

Steel says:

Wow, now how do we feel? Turns out it was a Liberal Palestinian. I bet your feeling pretty stupid now. Don't feel to bad. I am sure there will be plenty more chances to play the race card before this is over.

It's not accurate though. Obama has white makeup in the poster because the Joker wears white makeup, not because the Joker is white.

That my short post hit such a deep, raw nerve clearly shows that race was very much part of the illustration's attraction.

Steven Mikulan,

You wrote "that my short post hit such a deep, raw nerve cleary shows that race was very much part of the illustration's attraction."

Nice circular reasoning there, genius.

One could just as easily say that your short post hit such a deep, raw nerve clearly shows that race-baiting was very much a part of your post and that people are tired of your race-baiting ways.

Mikulan, at the very least, you may want to think about completing your high school education. Your lack of critical thinking skills is showing and it is making you look rather foolish.

If you actually (somehow) did procure a college education, you may want to ask for a refund. Then again, if you actually did procure a college education, that university might want to think about asking that you not advertise (ever) that you actually attended there.

As others here have previously said... your credibility (if you actually ever had any) is now officially gone.

He's just the president. He is supposed to be able to take criticism. Once you start asking people to be jailed or to loose their jobs because they have an opinion you pour the foundation for the coffin that kills freedom. People should be able to speak and say what they want. It gets tiresome that every time there is opposition, the spin is that the person is racist. Yet over and over the same self proclaimed minoroties spew anti white epithats and conspiracy illusions. Someone is always going to kill them but in order to justify that outburst it is always preceded with the racial hatred theory. I'm latino, and I'm sick of it. Newspapers deserve to go the way of the typewriter, you have villified your paying readership and are left with fans that want freebies. Your business plan is failure.
