Villaraigosa Mural Gets A Face Lift
It was probably destined to happen, and now it has.
The controversial mural of Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa at Susy's Meat Market in East Hollywood, which, over the past few weeks, had red-painted splattered on it, the word "vendido" (translation: someone who sells out his people) spray-painted on the mayor's collar, and big, red letters scrawled across it, is now undergoing a complete face lift.

L.A. Weekly photographer Ted Soqui took this picture last Thursday, which shows the mural getting an overhaul by painter Jorge Lopez, better known as Marciano.
Just before Marciano started his work on Thursday, the original mural, painted by the artist known as Rabi, looked like this:

Before that, the mural had this look:

It seems to us that as long as Villaraigosa's mug is up on that wall, there's a good chance that more "alterations" will be coming.
