I've never understood why people complain about other people taking photos. Sure, it might once in a while result in something getting buffed, but if you don't want to be documented, don't put your shit out in public. Just spray paint your mom's fence. That shit'll ride for years.
And let's not forget that thousands of people go by this stretch of river every day. It's visible from the 5 freeway, so it's not like it's some hidden little enclave of graffiti art.
However, the city does seem to be increasing its crackdown on this kind of work alongside rivers and so on - though not the ugly bombs on top of the (also ugly) murals on the 10 between Santa Monica and downtown...
We might be seeing the beginning of a real increase in the battle between writers and the city coming up. YOu think?
