As stated in the article recreational smokers are not allowed into\to purchase any items from the store.. All customers are screened for required documentation before entry.. There is nothing about this business that violates prop 215 in California.. One poster pointed out that the federal law in California supersedes state law which is also correct.. It's unfortunate though that these kind of events occur.. The resources that are used to "bust" medical marijuana dispensaries sickens me.. The resources could be much better used targeting some of the worst drugs in history such as cocaine or heroin. • hey mike I myself went to the coops very often (because the owner is probably one of the kindest people ive met) and didnt know the post office next door was a cannabis shop. I didnt realize it until one night(while at the coops) I saw a hooker/transvestite get buzzed in to the store.Then it hit me(the smell of marijuana and pizza) and I went about on my way. I was living on palms/jasmin but I moved now so I havent been to that area in about a month.

• I have to start off by saying that I don't smoke marijuana OR medical marijuana. BUT I LOVE this story. And I LOVE the humor that this place has done. I don't think they are making light of anyones illness or need to use what they offer. Just bringing a little humor to something serious. I use to live near this KFC. When the owner died, the place closed. And what a mess it was after. Junk cars abandoned, trash all over, graffiti, homeless defecating all over it, over grown weeds (not the smoking kind lol) it looked like a dump. NOW look at the place, it's clean !! Repainted, and giving life to the area. Plus I went in just to look at what it was like in side ( I was only allowed into the lobby area) they were very nice to me, even when I said I was just looking. Also they have someone there that is disabled working. That's right boys and girls, they even built a ramp so he could enter and work in the store. He told me the entire place was built for disabled people to freely enter and move around. So, my hat is off to these people that are making the area better, cleaner and employing people that might not have such a job otherwise.

• Dear Ms Cannabian, Technically it's not legal, as state law cannot supercede federal law. Should you doubt this, just ask a shop owner that has been busted by the feds. It's not like he can sue for a civil rights violation or anything. I would also question just how many of those who purchase pot under this program are genuinely "suffering from illness, disease, and pain". It's not that I am against it, it just that they should not use this ruse to buy their drugs with. It makes it appear all the more insiduous. The owners took an abandoned, boarded up, littered with trash commercial building, and saved money by incorporating their LEGAL business with the history, and obvious appearance, of the building. They've cleaned it up nicely and have brought jobs to the area. In a time of recession, how can this be anything but promising? • Dear Tom Ulcak, Both alcohol and nicotine have medicinal uses. Google it. In the case of nicotine, only the delivery method is considered deadly, just like the delivery system used by the majority of "medicinal marijuana" users. So far as alcohol and nicotine being "poisons", potassium, which is necessary for life, will stop your heart cold if you eat just a gram or two.
