What's the country reading today food-wise? Here's a roundup of some of the food-related stories from other newspapers, many of which print their food sections on Wednesday. And remember, even if you don't actually buy papers these days (or not; this paper is free), it's where most of your content comes from. Surf away. Just remember that spilling your macchiato over your keyboard is a lot more expensive than spilling it across newsprint.

The Los Angeles Times runs editor Russ Parsons' own personal Julia Child account: "Julie, Julia and Me."

From the Wall Street Journal: Advice for and from supermarket butchers.

Chicago Tribune looks at "The Big Green Cookbook," an eco-friendly cookbook by Jackie Newgent, a Brooklyn-based dietitian and chef.

The Washington Post demystifies heirloom tomatoes.

From The San Francisco Chronicle: a paean to corn, which is terrific in desserts.

The Boston Globe profiles a Massachusetts lobsterman who now sells his lobsters directly at Cape Cod farmers markets.

Read Frank Bruni's restaurant reviews while you can (he's retiring from the post this month) in the New York Times, where he reviews Eleven Madison Park.
