Pork Cracker Jack by Susan Feniger: Fried Pig With Popcorn

Categories: Bacon, Pork

At Allee Willis's party at Ghetto Gloss several weeks ago, Susan Feniger made a caramelly version of Cracker Jack with sunflower seeds, Boston baked bean candy, and salty pork. Pork. Pork. Pork. You'd bite into the stuff, taste the sweetness of peanut brittle, the carbohydrate crunch of the corn, and every so often, come upon a salty nugget of fried pork.

Feniger doesn't make it in her restaurant Street. It was a custom dish just for Willis's show (which was about kitsch--read about it here). But man, that stuff was addictively good. Proof that fried pork makes just about anything taste better.
