Last night's Whisky Live tasting in Santa Monica was a rather buttoned-up affair in the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium - at least for the first hour. Tastings were politely dolled-out in exchange for drink tickets all night (a sort of grown up carnival ride system), thus cleverly keeping the tossing-back to a minimum.
