Theresa Lin Cheng will show how to cook Chinese.
Learn to cook Chinese as if you were in the Ang Lee film Eat Drink Man Woman. The food director on that film, Theresa Lin Cheng, will teach a class in "The Joy of Chinese Cooking" this Saturday (November 14) at 2 p.m. at the Rosemead Library.

Cheng, a cookbook author, chef and restaurant consultant, will demonstrate three dishes: Cantonese scrambled eggs with shrimp, mapo's bean curd and stir-fried green vegetables. The recipes are simple. It's the techniques that make the difference.

Cheng also has a radio show, "What's Cooking," Monday through Friday at 9:50 a.m. on radio station KAZN (AM 1300). The show is in Mandarin, but Saturday's class will be in English.

The Joy of Chinese Cooking: Rosemead Library, 8800 Valley Blvd., Rosemead. (626) 573-5220. Admission is free.
