• What all you haters on street food refuse to admit to yourselves is that the preparation is the cleanest place the food will ever see. The disgusting industrial food production system owned by "legit" mega corporations is where the really disgusting and unhealthy scene is going on.. not a food vendor's kitchen.

• Ok. 1- WTF is up with taking pics of the food and not telling us what it is you are shooting? and 2- It isn't tasty if it isn't swimming in bacteria! Haven't you ever had Tacos de Amoeba? SUCKA! Go Guerilla Cuisine! Go street food!

• The funny thing about all these idiots commenting here is that they're all just upset cause we make better food than most restaurants and we don't pay taxes, which is true....now about the restroom issue, yes we do use the bathroom of restaurants that are around the neighborhood and we wash our hands ofcourse...the person that handles the money does not wear gloves but the people who make and prepare the food do wear gloves...now the people that come and comment here are ignorant people that have not experience any of the scene so why dont you come to Mathews St and Cesar E. Chavez and see what we are all about....DARE YOU!!unless your scare...by the way most of our clients are Hispanics so is more about culture to us than the money...thank you very much...now do you know what happens behind walls in restaurants???? ofcourse you dont, they drop the meat on the floor and still give it to you and your loving it, ha ha ha, not to mention the roaches and rats that exist in your delightful restaurant......now let me ask you this, would you rather see what you are going to eat being made right before your eyes? or do you prefer not knowing what you are getting served behind those restaurant walls?....just stop being racist and come down...will be waiting...and before you people comment stupid things come down and try it before you run your mouths....

• What a joke is this photo with illegal street vendor wearing gloves. Let's be real, we all know they don't use gloves or any other precaution when handling food. They don't have to because they're doing it ILLEGALLY!

• Why don't you write the complete stories about illegal food vendors? The Pros and Cons, and also include restaurants that serve the same food in a healthier, clean, safe, and under the ordinance of the Health Department. I cannot believe that a writer has nothing better to do by advertising the negative in a positive sale campaign. How much are you getting paid? This illegal vendors make thousands of Illegal dollars a week. Money talks... Were do this people wash their hands? Were do they have facilities, they don't normally u see them in alleys, or just around the corner instead of a clean bathroom , why not take a picture of that. oops no place to wash hands, the same hands of this person handles your food and the money your pay him.

• The other aspect that no one wants to talk about: Where do this people go to the bathroom, do they have a place to wash their hands after taking your money and than serving your delicious food. Look at their tools, dirty and surely not sanitized, maybe all this is what make the food so good to some. This is why is illegal, they do not follow the Health Department ordinance, they do not want to pay taxes, they just take the American Dream without being part of it. The food does not look as attractive as in this pictures, specially the surrounding of dirty plates, and were do they keep the meat, in the trunk of their cars, not a refrigerator. The rest I leave to your intelligence to figure it out. Hope that some of you that want to try the food don't get violantly sick, like so many have. This people do not want to pay their portion of taxes, like the rest of us do.

• THANK YOU LAPD FOR CLEANING UP THIS FLITHY MESS. This food is latent with bacteria and these people go to the bathroom in the street and dont' wash their hands. THEY ARE BREAKING THE LAW BECAUSE ILLEGAL VENDING IS AGAINST THE LAW. Why do you reporters portray this as something positive. You should speak to the people who live in this area and hear the issues they have with these illegal vendors. They don't pay taxes and make up thousands a month selling this nasty food.

• I tried to shoot there too. Its tough, the light is really yellow but don't worry, the food isn't yellow and it does taste really good. I like the people shots alot btw.
