Del's Saloon Closes Today: Everything Must Go

Del's Saloon, a 35 year-old bar on Santa Monica Blvd., is serving its last brews today. If you're a Del's regular, or have never been to the dark spot sandwiched between Smart & Final and Light Bulbs & More--or are doing a tour of your favorite Knocked Up scene locations--the bar is serving half price drinks all day until 2 a.m., with $2 bottled beers, $3 well drinks, and $5 for all other cocktails. The divey haunt lost its lease and is auctioning off everything on the walls throughout the week, upon request. The bar that will soon take Del's place offered the landlord more money and Del's simply could not meet the price point. "The situation is pretty fucked," said one of Del's longtime bartenders. The bar has no current relocation plans.
