A Water Menu? Now That's Bazaar

• Do not laugh at the concept of the water sommelier. The August 2009 issue of the Sommelier Journal has an article entitled: "Water Sommeliers: Do They (Should They) Exist?" (written by a Master Sommelier so they can't be far away). And in Italy, according to the website Swide, "the Italian A.D.A.M (Associazione Degustatori Acque Minerali, Mineral Water Tasters Association) is offering courses to become �water sommeliers�." According to the article, "The A.D.A.M course, which have run since 2002, are dedicated in particular to people working in the restaurant industry � but not only. The courses are divided into three levels. The first level focuses on water nourishing and hygienic principles, how to read labels, and how to identify and classify mineral waters, (sources have their own specific mix of salt and gasses.) The second and third levels expand on the basis foundation, with a final exam." If only they can teach them how to match it with my Fritos.

• I think there may be something to this. We are living in a sea of pollution. Like a good quality antique piece of art, you are ingesting one of the last available pure sources known to man from thousands of years ago.

• Considering the fact that Fiji/Voss sell for 8-10 dollars at most hotspots, the pricing isn't too unreasonable. What the bazaar should do though is bring back the brunch/tea....those were the best reasons to visit anyways

• And somewhere in the back is a waiter with a hose filling all the glasses. I feel like this menu should be the set-up to something else. Like, just kidding about the monks, but if you'd really like to spend $10 on water check out these nonprofits that help bring drinking water to developing countries.
