Somebody Loves Me Homeless Food & Clothing Drive: Spread the Love on V-Day

Hunger in L.A. County is on the rise, and on Valentine's Day weekend you can help during We Feed LA's Somebody Loves Me Homeless Food & Clothing Drive. Brian Pasquale, founder of We Feed LA, an organization which feeds and clothes the homeless, encourages volunteers to contribute in any way they can--and that doesn't necessarily require culinary skill. We Feed LA encourages you to bring homemade or store-bought dishes, drive and distribute packaged food, or serve as an assembly line Cupid.

Pasquale, who is no stranger to hunger and homelessness, was inspired to start his own (soon to be) non-profit after attending Gobble Gobble Give's 11th annual Thanksgiving event last year. We Feed LA's first event, Helping Homeless Secret Santa, succeeded in feeding 340 people. And though Valentine's Day doesn't necessarily have the same holiday spirit as Christmas, Pasquale hopes there will still be a solid volunteer effort. "The ultimate overall goal is to give everyone an opportunity to experience what it feels like to be a person who is part of the solution," said Pasquale. Somebody Loves Me Homeless Food & Clothing Drive is from 8 a.m. to noon, February 13th, in the downstairs kitchen of Mount Hollywood Congregational Church.
