EAT: Los Angeles Signing Party + Grilled Cheese Truck in Pasadena

eatla2010.jpg
If you like to trek through L.A. searching for food, you probably have a copy of EAT: Los Angeles: The Food Lover's Guide to Los Angeles, in your glove compartment, or, let me see, buried under bottles of hot sauce and empty La Brea Bakery bags in the back seat of your car. This evening, you can pick up a copy of the latest edition of the locally produced and published guide and get free food from The Grilled Cheese Truck at the same time.

The folks who brought you EAT: Los Angeles (publisher and editor Colleen Dunn Bates; writers Pat Saperstein, Linda Burum, Jean Barrett, and Miles Clements; designer and "serious food guy" Joseph Shuldiner) will be appearing at Vroman's in Pasadena tonight, March 9th, from 7 - 9 p.m., to sign copies of the book.

The Grilled Cheese Truck will be parked in the bookstore's parking lot to help celebrate by passing out free samples for attendees. If you spend any time stalking food trucks in Pasadena, you'll appreciate the significance of this, as food trucks are rarely found within Pasadena city limits because of that city's "tricky" health regulations. In addition to the free samples for book signing attendees, the truck will have the regular menu items for sale. A good enough reason to help support your local books and your local booksellers. (No, Bates will not come dressed as Julia Child. Maybe if Streep had won the Oscar.)
