Dinner & A Movie At Drago Centro
The happy ritual of dinner and a movie, especially in this town, can be a lot more fun than Ben Hur at a drive-in, the questionable first date landscape of this writer's parents. Now, instead of Charlton Heston and sub-par hamburgers, you can eat sweet corn agnolotti with pancetta and lemon brown butter foam while you watch Fellini's La Dolce Vita. No ketchup on the upholstery either, but the flatwear and white tablecloths of Celestino Drago's downtown pasta-centric restaurant. A vast improvement, and one that hopefully insures that you will not, in late middle-age and despite being a lifelong pacifist, harbor an inexplicable fondness for the NRA.
For on June 3rd, Drago Centro will start their summer movie series with a screening of the Fellini film and a 4-course dinner. The movie will show in Drago Centro's vault (yes, they call it that), a private dining room and "exhibition kitchen" which has two 47" flat-screen televisions. If not Fellini, next month they'll be showing Roman Holiday. The title for August's show has yet to be announced. Showings are on the first Thursday of each month. Call the restaurant for menus.
