CSPI Releases Its Annual List Of The Fattiest Foods In America

This did not make the list
Some restaurants, it seems, are trying their best to kill you as quickly as possible. While we knew that most dishes at places like The Cheesecake Factory and Outback Steakhouse were incredibly unhealthy, we still didn't know which ones were the absolute worst of the worst. Now, thanks to The Center for Science in the Public Interest, we do.

CSPI released their annual list of "Xtreme Eating" earlier this week, in hopes of scaring some people into a healthier lifestyle. We don't know if it will work, but at the very least, it is morbidly fascinating. Turn the page for the list.

Bob Evans: Cinnamon Cream Stacked & Stuffed Hotcakes: 1,380 calories and 34 grams of saturated fat.

California Pizza Kitchen: Pesto Cream Penne: 1,350 calories, 49 grams of saturated fat, and 1,920 mg of sodium.

California Pizza Kitchen: Tostada Pizza with Grilled Steak: 1,680 calories, 32 grams of saturated fat, and over 3,300 mg of sodium.

The Cheesecake Factory: Chocolate Tower Truffle Cake: 1,670 calories and 48 grams of saturated fat.

The Cheesecake Factory: Pasta Carbonara with Chicken: 2,500 calories and 85 grams of saturated fat.

Chevys: Crab & Shrimp Quesadilla: 1,790 calories, 63g of saturated fat, and 3,440 mg of sodium.

Five Guys: Bacon Cheeseburger: 920 calories and 30 grams of saturated fat. Large Order Of Fries: 1,460 calories.

If you ate at these places every day, you might have a problem. But most people don't. They eat these only occasionally. I had Five Guys for the first time today and I really liked it. Great burgers & fries. Am I going to eat it all the time? Of course not. Lists like these are essentially pointless. I don't know anyone who eats these foods frequently. They are, as I said, occasional indulgences. The people who come up with these lists would prefer we all only eat tofu, rice cakes & drink water or plain tea for every meal.

Wait... So how didn't the double-down make the list?
