All You (Or Somebody Else) Can Eat: Competitive Pizza Eating Contest

Categories: Pizza

If your idea of a good time is watching two grown men see how many slices of pizza they can eat in 10 minutes, then you have someplace to be tomorrow afternoon. At 3 p.m. this Saturday in Culver City -- at Sony Pictures Studios of all places -- the Pizza Hut Chow-lenge will pit food contest veterans Joey Chestnut and Pat Bertoletti against each other in a 10-minute all-they-can-eat event. For those of you not thoroughly up on the world of competitive eating, Joey "Jaws" Chestnut, currently ranked #1 in the world in competitive eating, set the world record for eating hot dogs and buns (68 in 10 minutes) last year. Chestnut also holds the world pizza eating title in the 14-inch category (45 slices).

Pat "Deep Dish" Bertoletti, ranked #4 in the world, holds records in both the 24-inch pizza category (7 1/2 slices) and the 16-inch category (47 slices). And if you can't make it over to Sony, you can always catch the fun on the Spike TV Guys Choice awards, which air on June 20th at 10:00 p.m. Unless you're busy cramming slices of pizza into your own mouth, of course, which is about the only commentary we have on this. Note to Sony: please don't make a movie about this. Just please.
