A reminder to maybe put down your chopsticks (omakase) and your TV remote (CNN) tonight and consider heading over to the Skirball Center for the Zócalo discussion: Will Seafood Soon Be a Delicacy? Jonathan Gold, his brother Mark Gold of Heal the Bay, Providence chef-owner Michael Cimarusti and Santa Monica Seafood's Logan Kock will chart the current waters, so to speak. Whether you prefer toro sashimi or tunafish in a can, the future and sustainability of the fishing industry was a question long before the Gulf Coast oil spill.

Skirball Cultural Center: 2701 North Sepulveda Blvd., Los Angeles; (310) 440-4500. The event is July 7th at 7:30 p.m. and is free. Reservations are required.
