Anarbagh Indian Opens Second Restaurant in Encino

• We have eaten here for at least 20 years and have found the food very good. The staff is friendly but sometimes a bit linguistically challenged. The tandoori chicken is to die for. I lived in India for several years,and this is a great place in the west valley to try it. The detractor's comments are truly surprising.

• I heard about this restaurant had opened in my neighbourhood and thought will go and check how it is. Online I saw all positive feedback. Looks like they created the review also themselves. This was the worst indian restaurant i ever went. We ordered for vegetarian samosa and they mixed it up with chicken one and when we told them they showed least regret and said it was a small mistake. I was so angry , for a strictly vegeterian person like me...i was under the assumption that indians here understand what religion and belief is but probably not this place. So I just cancelled my order and came away as I didn't want any more mixup. The attitude of the owner and the customer service is horrible. Probably they need some training and some one to make them understand that these are not small mistakes and one doesn't expect this to happen in an Indian restaurant

• I ate (imperfect tense) at Anarbagh in Woodland Hills for years, as the closest Indian sit-down place to my vegetarian in-laws' house. It started off well, as I recall, but I watched as the service went from casual to slow, from slow to glacial and from glacial to walk-into-the-kitchen nonexistent. The food, too, went on a downward trend. Food was served indifferently-cooked (hard chickpeas, fried paneer that was still ice-cold in the center) and the care we'd come to expect was lacking. The spicing became less adept, but they made up for it by soaking everything in ghee. The last time we went�which was the last time�twelve of us sat down in an empty restaurant. A fork with a piece of seekh kebab lay dangling off a nearby table; the white tablecloths of two tables were speckled and dirty and hadn't been changed, but the tables had been reset on them. We ordered ten dishes (the portions are large) and it took 60 minutes before the first dish hit the table; it took nearly three hours to have lunch. Another party who came in left unfed. No apologies; no concern; when they saw we were unhappy, they disappeared into the kitchen. So forgive me if I don't rush to Anarbagh 2. There are too many Indian places I'd rather give business to.
