Whether you've got an iPhone, iPad, a Droid or a Blackberry, the application marketplace is an ever-growing beast of super-sized proportions. Especially when it comes to cooking programs. In the past we've shared the professional chefs' favorite apps, baker and blogger David Lebovitz's app and Mark Bittman's How To Cook Everything app. Now we have a few more to add to the list, including one from Mario Batali, Cook's Illustrated and an app dedicated entirely to salsa. Batali himself provides a description of the app on iTunes, saying, "I personally created 100% of the content in this app -- 63 recipes from the many regions of Italy, spanning all seasons of the year." In addition, the app has a comprehensive image library of that accompany each step of every recipe and also allows cooks of all levels to browse recipes by region, course, prep-time, season, food category or even kid-friendliness.
Cook's Illustrated By America's Test Kitchen -- FREE
The Cook's Illustrated app includes 50 of Test Kitchen's approved all-time best recipes, from appetizers and main courses to side dishes, breakfasts and desserts. The app even helps you if you're far away from the kitchen say, in the supermarket, with dozens of taste test reviews for supermarket ingredients.
