Whether you're a soba, udon, linguine, glass, ramen or angel hair fan, today's your day. Actually, it's National Noodle Day: an equal opportunity celebration of all things noodles. To commemorate the date, chef Helene An, owner of Crustacean, Tiato Garden Market Café, AnQi Gourmet Bistro and arguably L.A.'s noodle matriarch, is selling bowls of her garlic noodles for eighty-nine cents today only. Why 89 cents? It's not only National Noodle Day, it's also the 30th anniversary of her garlic noodles; hence the 1980-esque price tag. Considering that the noodles typically cost $11.50 on the a la carte menu, that's a reduction of (give us a second while we do the math) about ninety-three percent.

Never tried chef An's garlic noodles? Well, today's the day. If you love them, you're not alone; Food Network's Ace of Cakes star Duff Goldman unsuccessfully tried to get chef An to spill her secret recipe on the network's show, The Best Thing I Ever Ate. Personally, we don't care how they're made or that they come from An's secret kitchen, as long as she keeps making them for another thirty years.
