Your Weekend Restaurant PSA: Sunday's Triathalon Street Closure

If your Sunday morning routine typically includes wandering around northern Culver City, stopping in at Akasha for brunch and then strolling over to Ford's Filling Station and then maybe across the street to Tara's Himalayan and then heading back over to Le Saint Amour to stalk Walter Manzke before the bistro opens for dinner, you'll need to change your plans this weekend. This Sunday, October 3rd, the City of Los Angeles will be co-opting much of the boulevard -- see the map and check the website -- for their 11th annual Triathlon. So unless Nike is sponsoring your restaurant crawl, it's not going to happen on normal time.

To accommodate the event, all perpendicular streets to Venice will be closed and foot traffic will only be allowed at signalled intersections. Maybe if you're carrying a racing bike and have your Lance Armstrong outfit on over your swimsuit you'll have better luck than if you're carrying all that stuff you got at Surfas, I don't know. Either way, the action will take place from between 5:00 a.m. and 12 noon, so probably by the time Father's Office is up and running, you'll be fine.
