23-Year-Old Man Pronounced Dead, 23-Year-Old Woman Charged after DUI Collision near Oak Drive

NEVADA COUNTY, CA (May 2, 2024) – Kasey Patrick died Sunday morning, and Isabella Christmon was arrested after a DUI collision on Highway 49 and Oak Drive. The incident occurred at approximately 2:15 a.m., on April 28th. Christmon was behind the wheel of a 2016 Volkswagen Passat when she lost control negotiating a curve, causing the vehicle to veer off the highway. The car collided with several oak trees before tumbling down a steep hillside, finally coming to a halt approximately 45 feet from the road. Kasey Patrick, a 23-year-old from Nevada and Christmon’s passenger, lost their life due to injuries sustained in the crash. Emergency services transported 23-year-old Christmon, who sustained severe injuries, to the hospital. Subsequently, she faced DUI charges.
