The original post, published January 11:

Note to the food-minded of this town, the Jonathan Gold groupies (bless you), the people who trail Roy Choi and Nancy Silverton and Laurent Quenioux and Ricardo Zarate like acolytes, and the many whose epicurean dreams still take place at the unlikely location of the Petersen Automotive Museum: the 2011 Gold Standard is coming. This year's happy event, the third annual Gold Standard, will take place on Sunday March 6th, from 1-5 p.m., again at the Petersen. Tickets will go on sale next Thursday, January 20th. Yes, we know that's a lot of lag time, but we also know that you need time to cancel all the stuff you have going on March 6th. And to start planning your fast. You're welcome. So, who has Jonathan picked this year?

As of now, the confirmed restaurants include: A-Frame, Bistro LQ, Chichen Itza, Earlez Grille, Jitlada, La Casita Mexicana, Manila Machine, Mayura Amrit, Meals By Genet, Mozza, Park's BBQ, Slaw Dogs, Street, The Gorbals, Mo-Chica and Upstairs 2. There will be 40 restaurants and/or food trucks at the event, and 30 wineries represented (The Wine House is the presenting sponsor). A portion of the ticket proceeds will benefit Heal the Bay. And yes, Heal the Bay executive director Mark Gold is Jonathan's brother. Mark may or may not be present. Either way, he will not be eating octopus.

Tickets are $60 for general admission, $80 for VIP tickets, which include early entry at noon and a fancy swag bag from the event sponsors. No tickets will be sold at the door. Tickets are only available online, and will be available Thursday, January 20th at laweekly.com/goldstandard, which site goes live this Thursday, January 13th.

Do you have to pay for food once you enter or is that included in ticket price?

Can think of no better mashup than cars & fancy food. Drunkards better not drop food onto the Doozie.

Exactly what I was thinking...is that some sort of cream sauce on the Bugatti?
