Jersey Grub Truck Hits L.A. Streets This Weekend

Some say the only good things to come out of New Jersey have been Bruce Springsteen, Frank Sinatra, and more recently, the MTV-driven trainwreck/cultural phenomenon that is Jersey Shore. But come this weekend, another East Cost transplant -- The Jersey Grub Truck -- plans to hit the streets of L.A., serving up some of the Garden State's most famed foods. Lucky for us, there's not a Snooki- or Sammi Sweetheart-themed sandwich in sight.

Owned by an actual Jersey native-turned-Hollywood transplant who, to the best of our knowledge isn't an aspiring actor, the Jersey Grub truck is turning out "amazing daily specials" and a full menu dedicated to "fat" Jersey sandwiches. Mulling over the menu, the first thing we notice is that you've got to have a serious appetite to eat one of these bad boys: the Fat 'Beach' sandwich comes with -- just think about this for a second -- cheese steak, chicken fingers, mozzarella sticks, french fries, ketchup, mayo, lettuce and tomato.

That's right, you can get your protein both grilled and deep-fried, as well as enjoy fried cheese and potatoes all on the same sandwich. But that's just the beginning: there's the Fat Jerz sandwich (hamburger, pork roll, egg, BBQ sauce), the Fat Prop. 19 (cheese steak, mozzarella sticks, french fries, marinara sauce, lettuce, tomato), and for the health-conscious, the Fat Boo (grilled chicken, sweet potato fries, honey mustard, lettuce, tomato).

Track the truck's weekend whereabouts @JerseyGrub and, if you really want to prove your love, toss out quotes from Jersey Girl or Mallrats, sing a tune or two from Bon Jovi or Frankie Valli, or engage in a hearty Olivia vs. Tracey Jerseylicious debate. Not familiar? No worries, you can eat your way into Jersey legend status instead: the truck's Facebook page says if can eat five of Jersey Grub truck's Fat sandwiches in less than 45 minutes, you get to create and name your own sandwich.
