More Comme Ça Chef Shuffles: Choi Out, Samaniego In

While David Myers continues his world domination - he opened a café and patisserie in Tokyo last September, and a second Comme Ça in Las Vegas in December - the revolving door at his Melrose brasserie continues to turn. Last year, Comme Ça's opening executive chef Michael David left, and according to PR, executive chef Dong Choi is now gone:

"David Myers Group (DMG) has relieved Comme Ça West Hollywood executive chef Dong Choi of his duties due to his failure to fulfill the job responsibilities. Executive Sous Chef Eric Samaniego, who has been with Comme Ça since opening, is taking over the day to day responsibilities."

Like most of the DMG team, Choi was in Vegas for the restaurant's splashy New Year's Eve debut at The Cosmopolitan, but it's unconfirmed if that had anything to do with this untimely departure (as they say: what happens there, stays there). In addition to working at the original Melrose brasserie since its inception, Samaniego also worked with Myers at Sona. The menu will stay the same.
