Update: The Top Rahmen is back on top. The Chicago Sun Times reports that the Illinois Supreme Court has ruled 7-0 to allow Rahm Emanuel back on to the ballot for the Chicago Mayoral race.
He told the paper,
"As I said from the beginning, voters deserve a right to make a choice of who should be mayor,'' Emanuel said, "and I think what the Supreme Court said was basically in short that the voters will make the decision who should be mayor. When it was announced Monday that the Illinois Appeals Court had ruled Rahm Emanuel ineligible to run for the Chicago mayoralty because of residency requirements, you can bet that the first thing out of the famously potty-mouthed politician was a big honking f-bomb.
But perhaps after that torrent of profanity, the first thing into the mouth of the former White House Chief of staff was a soothing bowl of slurpable ramen. At least that's what our new favorite tumblr gallery, Rahmen Emanuel, has us hoping.

Though some naysayers have called the appeals court ruling a fatal blow to the Emanuel campaign, the Top Rahmen isn't yet ready to relent, promising to take the decision to the Illinois Supreme Court. He says that his time in the Obama administration should be covered by the same law applied to those whose military service has kept them away from the state or city in which they seek office.
"When the president asks you to serve the country as his chief of staff," said Emanuel, in a press conference Monday, "That counts as serving your country a bowl of ramen."
Clearly the optimistic Emanuel still has a few flavor packets up his sleeve...
