Alicia Silverstone Signs Her Cookbook Tonight at Vroman's
If you're one of those people who has secretly watched not just Clueless but Scooby Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed way more times than you'll admit, you have somewhere to be tonight. Namely, Vroman's in Pasadena, where Alicia Silverstone will be signing her New York Times bestselling cookbook, The Kind Life: A Simple Guide to Feeling Great, Losing Weight, and Saving the Planet, which was published by Rodale Books in 2009. 
Silverstone will not only sign copies of her book (at 7 p.m.) but will discuss "the insights that encouraged her to swear off meat and dairy forever." Silverstone is a vegan, and her cookbook is a vegan guide, in which she divides potential adherents into three separate levels: Flirt, Vegan and Superhero. Once in a Batman movie, always in a Batman movie, I guess.
Silverstone also has a blog, The Kind Life, which is, as Silverstone has described it, "an interactive extension of my book, 'The Kind Diet', which is about living your healthiest and happiest life to the fullest, while taking care of mama Earth at the same time!" In addition to her numerous film roles, Silverstone was voted Sexiest Female Vegetarian by PETA in 2004.
