Happy Anniversary Martha! Six years ago this morning, Martha Stewart was released from jail. As you may recall, Stewart spent five months at the minimum-security federal women's prison in Alderson, West Virginia after being convicted for lying to government investigators about the sale of a few thousand shares of stock in a biotechnology company.

It occurred to Stewart's fans, many of whom wore Free Martha T-shirts and threw parties the night of her release, that her situation could have been, well, a little cooked. Stewart, who was named the third most powerful woman in America by Ladies Home Journal in 2001, was undoubtedly guilty. But one wonders how many powerful men do some sketchy stock trading every day. What was Bernie Madoff doing while prosecutors were making their case against Stewart? Not to condone breaking laws of any kind, but just saying.

Readers can't believe every word written by Scattergood.

"...FOR lying to government investigators" (my emphasis) is lying by liar Scattergood. No evidence existed of any "lying" by Martha Stewart - not one single word spoken by her or any Bush goon was recorded in a transcript or in sworn testimony. Martha was "convicted" because of grossly incompetent legal representation; the Martha Stewart case is about legal malpractice and the abuse and misuse of the criminal justice system for political gain.

"Stewart...was undoubtedly guility" is hogwash from state propagandist Scattergood, who is clueless about the facts and brainwashing readers in an evidentiary void.

Martha engaged in no "sketchy stock trading" and "breaking laws." She made a puny personal stock sale that was perfectly legal under securities laws that have existed for almost 80 years. Economic freedom in this American democracy gives Martha Stewart, and every American, the right to sell her stock at a time of her choosing; she owed nobody any explanation for the sale, and why she sold the stock was nobody's business, including the Bush goons.

Scattergood obviously needs to take a hard look at journalistic integrity and ponder every word she writes - does it comport with the truth and nothing but the truth?

as such, don't even get me started on these self-important, creepy, trollish, bottom feeder types who so easily exclaim they're doing something for children or others while so blatantly scraping from the work of many others without even giving credit.....after all, if one's gift of education alone is to plagiarize......don't even get me started on the hypocrisy and pretense of so many including their coterie from the peanut gallery so easily dressing their filthy souls with the aid of stylists and not an ounce of ingenuity to step up and represent. yes, there are plenty of people who were reaping benefits while the lady scraped as a scapegoat. it was pathetic in many ways.....just as all of the nutless uncle toms in hollywood.
