No, Alice Waters has not tweeted yet. But over the weekend her Twitter followers rose to 2,600+. (Okay, Charlie Sheen still has that Guinness world record.) And there has been not a little anticipatory sport at the hands of, most notably, Ruth Bourdain. "Rumor has it @alicewaters will drop her first tweet today. Can we get some #PredictingAliceWatersTweets up in here?"
And, shortly after: "Somebody just tweeted about corn, but it's only March. LMAO. #PredictingAliceWatersTweets." And, "Please don't be offended, but I will have to block you if you tweet outside of my foodshed. #PredictingAliceWatersTweets." Etcetera. More fun in the new world.
