April at L.A. Farmers Markets: Your Virtual Grocery List

Spring has come to Los Angeles farmers markets, bringing stinging nettles and fennel, fava beans and English peas, as well as lilacs -- only available for a few weeks in Southern California -- and more citrus. Kumquats. Meyer lemons. Strawberries are particularly good this year, but stone fruit will be a bit late. Check out our virtual grocery list slideshow, the photos for which were taken at the Wednesday Santa Monica and Saturday Pasadena farmers markets in the last week. And yes, it all tastes as good as it looks.
