Whole Foods Parking Lot: The Music Video + What to Rhyme with Quinoa

Categories: Shopping

Thanks to LA Observed for a link to this, a hilarious rap music video taking place in a Westside L.A. Whole Foods parking lot. And inside the Whole Foods too, so we have lovely shots of the produce aisles and cheese counters and wine racks that allow DJDave, aka David Wittman, who wrote, produced and performed the piece, to rap about the joyful experience of spending "80 bucks for 6 things." So go watch it, if for no other reason than to listen to DJDave find words to rhyme with Humboldt Fog and quinoa. Which some of us have been trying to do unsuccessfully for years.

This video is the first project from Fog and Smog, a creative effort from L.A.- and San Francisco-based "composers, film editors, producers, designers, deejays, animators, photographers, etc." Acccording to the website, it was directed by George Woolley and Pedram Torbati, cut by Jake Pushinsky, and features Ben Kahle and Ben Marlbrough in supporting roles.

Maybe if we're lucky they'll move on to the Bay Cities parking lot next. Or maybe Huckleberry, or even the Santa Monica farmers market. More fun with music, parking and produce. Oh, and read the YouTube comments too ("It's Ray Liotta's rapping brother!"), which are almost as funny as the video.
