Burger Kitchen Gets "Ramsayed" on Kitchen Nightmares

The Mini Burger Delicious
Burger Kitchen has received plenty of praise from local critics, both of the pro and amateur varieties, but you're nobody in this town until Gordon Ramsay screams at you. The 3rd Street burger joint recently got the British chef's trademark revamp, complete with bleeped cuss words and video cameras for Ramsay's reality show, Kitchen Nightmares. Burger Kitchen officially reopens today, in its new Ramsay-ized persona.

Look for an "interactive blackboard wall" on which you can draw while waiting for "nibbles" like shrimp ceviche, fried dill pickles, Vodka-battered onion rings and Parmesan rosemary fries. Want to order from one of the new, Ramsay-designed burgers like the Divine Swine, the Asian Persuasion or the Juicy Lucy? (Maybe they sound better when you say them in Cockney rhyming slang.) You'll have to order off the new Zephyr iPod system. At least Burger Kitchen still has over 100 selections on its beer list.

We saw how well Sante La Brea's Kitchen Nightmares makeover worked out, which is to say not at all. Even with the Ramsay revamp, the healthy-ish restaurant shut down, and German restaurant Wirtshaus recently opened in the space. Let's hope Burger Kitchen has better luck.

Jonathan Gold on Burger Kitchen:

"If you want to experience New York-style hamburger-blend fetishism, you need to check out the Burger Kitchen -- the only place this side of Chicago where you can taste [Pat] La Frieda's Black Label blend."

I feel sad for Daniel the the parents are so whacked, the mom is a completely dillusional but job, typical pollock. Now you know why there are so many pollock jokes, their stubborn idiots.

Why on earth did Kitchen Nightmares turn the Burger Kitchen into a movie?  Watching one episode was sufficiently painful and neurotic to prevent me from being remotely interested in the conclusion.  Chef Ramsey's "empathy" toward this family was totally non-congruent with the guy we're accustomed to watching

I am watching kitchen nightmeres. First, whatever they are paying chef ramsey is not enough to deal with this family and its cast of weirdos. Do they ever shut up and actuallyits listen to onedel another? They are totally insane.why do people that know nothing about running a restarant always think that it is going to be so easy. I hope that the son sues the father for stealing his truust fund

The second episode hasn't aired yet, but i have to say i'm not impressed with dad stealing his son's $250,000 from his trust fund to open a restaurant, and mom seems like a nasty biotch who really DOES need Prozac.  God help them all.  Hope the son gets his money back..even if he has to take his dad to court for theft (which I think he should.)  Could a parent get any lower than this?

I had just crossed tBK off my visit list as a recent dinner revealed that their menu had gone to the dogs and the half-assed service I initially attributed to working out the kinks at opening had not improved one drop. Can't wait for the episode, and will now give it a third try.
