Burrito King to Become Mixto Comida Latina

Guzzle & Nosh
The longstanding Burriton King outpost at the corner of Sunset Boulevard and Alvarado Street Hyperion and Rowena has been bought by the owners of Silver Lake pizza joint Tomato Pie, and is set to become Mixto Comida Latina, according to The Eastsider LA.

Gone is the yellow and orange paint, replaced by a lime green facade. Business partners Garrett Policastrow and Freddy Suarez plan to serve tacos, tortas and burritos made with grass-fed beef and sustainable foods.

Please, God tell me there's at least ONE real Burrito King left in Los Angeles.  I live for those wonderful, nutty-tasting bean and cheese burritos.  Prediction:  "For Lease" sign on Mixto within a year.

Just awful.  Not the traditional Mexican food Burrito King had.   Stupid name too, what the hell does Mixto mean?  It certainly doesn't roll off the tongue.  If these anorexic grungy hipsters want healthy food let them toddle across the street to Trader Joe's for a veggie enchilada and let me have my haunt of the past 30 years Burrito King back.  Mexican food should be a hot greasy mess.  Not some weird hybrid of white & black beans and some stupid cheese I've never heard of.  The pukey green paint job should have been an indication of what was coming.  Last night they closed at 8pm...so much for the "open late" sign...what a joke!

Are you fucking kidding me... that's my favorite spot for tacos... well I just like the ability to buy my hemp papers and Lipton Brisk... now I have to go to the other one and get pinkberry...

Read the original article and you'll see the sunset & alvarado location is not mentioned as being replaced but only as the original location. Way to freak me out for a second, do your homework!

This is the burrito King in Silver Lake, not Echo Park!

It's actually the "Burriton King" on Hyperion, not on Sunset.
