In the end, crime didn't pay for Tara Moore. The former bookkeeper was booked yesterday on charges of embezzling $3 million from San Diego area restaurant Jack's La Jolla.

The popular restaurant closed abruptly in 2009. According to the Los Angeles Times, the police say that the shutdown was a direct result of the theft, leaving 120 workers jobless.

Moore, who is being held in lieu of $2.5 million bail, is set for arraignment today in San Diego County Superior Court.
