Currywurst, now open on Fairfax

Though the days of summer and beersicles have ended, some zip codes are still feeling the heat. The restaurant forecast seems a bit more chilly. Venga, which opened less than two months ago, announced its closure, but owner Shahriar Besharat recently told Eater that the rumors were false. "Apparently my previous chef has written directly to let you know that we are Done. Actually I haven't sold any shares, I have just changed chefs. Our neighborhood is starving for a new lunch we are re-conceptualizing our breakfast, lunch and dinner offering," Besharat said. Full details are uncertain, and Venga's neglected Facebook page and defunct website are of no help.

Sushi Mac, which opened on Sawtelle less than two years ago, has announced its closure, but is still running a second location on West 3rd Street. Another West 3rd Street resident, Fonuts has replaced the departed Kiss My Bundt. And Currywurst on Fairfax is now serving German sausage to the masses.
