BAM!!! Beer, Art & Music Festival in Santa Monica This Sunday

Brewing craft beer is an art. That's why the name changed from microbrew to craft brew. The Second Annual BAM Fest (Beer, Art & Music Festival) will be held in Santa Monica on this Sunday, October 9, from 1-6 p.m.

BAM celebrates the trifecta of locally produced art, music and, most importantly to us, the best in California craft beer. Twenty-five world-class brewers, including nice L.A.-area breweries, will join forces with four live bands, three art galleries, open artist studios, an artist market, and gourmet food trucks to make this a the unofficial spring board for LA Beer Week that begins the next day.

Asia Dog Bahn Mi Hotdog at BAM Fest

Local brewers Beachwood, Bootlegger's, Cismontane, Eagle Rock, El Segundo, Ladyface, Smog City, Strand, and Taps will provide unlimited samples in your handy dandy BAM fest logo glass. Tops among the other breweries, Ballast Point will be up from San Diego and Drake's will come down from San Leandro to offer their award-winning beers.

The local bands are JT Ross & Speedway, The Orlando Napier Band, Upstart and, last but hardly least, The Dustbowl Revival. Food trucks will abound including The Border Grill Truck. Beer geeks can tour the artist studios and learn about art. Art freaks can sample dozens of beer styles and learn about the craft of brewing. It's the proverbial win, win.

The only way to feel any better about your Sunday afternoon drinking craft beer, checking out cool art, and listening to great music is to know that all proceeds benefit the 18th Street Arts Center. Did we mention there is a free bicycle valet if you ride your bike over?

Pre-sale tickets are $35 online or in person at The Library Alehouse in Santa Monica. Or you can up your "donation" and pay $40 at the door.

BAM Fest is in Santa Monica at 18th Street Arts Center: 1639 18th Street, Santa Monica, CA 90404. The 2012 Festival is scheduled for Saturday, October 6, 2012. So mark your calendar!

Sorry about that, Bruce. We writers link a Google map to the festival location but LA Weekly just went to a new system in which the actual map didn't show up for you. So while I was at a family wedding all weekend in Napa and just now checking in with you and the 3 people who liked your comment, WHERE IS THE FESTIVAL?
