Karen O: Burrito Crooner

What do post-New Wave songstress Karen O, country crooner Willie Nelson and Chipotle burritos have in common? They've teamed up to promote awareness about the economic hardship that American family farmers face in an industrialized agricultural system.

In the short film Abandoned, directed by David Altobelli, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs singer covers "Mammas Don't Let Your Babies Grow Up to Be Cowboys," her plaintive voice a surprisingly good match for the sad lyrics of the Willie Nelson/WaylonJennings hit.

The four-minute short film, set at night, follows three boys into an old farmhouse, abandoned long ago and in a hurry.

The film is also meant to promote Chipotle's Boorito fundraiser. Held annually on Halloween, it aims to raise up to $1 million dollars for the Chipotle Cultivate Foundation and Farm Aid.
