5 Cutest & Least Scary Halloween Treats
Halloween is not supposed to be cute. Scary, yes. Creepy, yes. Death-obsessed, yes. Still, cute Halloween goodies abound. Adorable Frankensteins, precious zombies, ticklish vampires with candy corn teeth and ghosts that would make Casper look like a crank. What the $%^#!@! is going on? Here are five of the cutest Halloween treats we found around this usually scary town.
5. Teddy bears: We could blame it on the teddy bears. In their ongoing quest for world domination, they are now trying to take over Halloween. Everywhere you look, there are fuzzy-wuzzy teddy bears in devil, skeleton, witch or pumpkin costumes. However, many of them, such as these bears from Dylan's Candy Bar, Boca Bons and Godiva, are carrying bags of candy corn or gold boxes containing chocolate truffles. Those evil geniuses! The Dylan's bear, in his pumpkin-orange footie pajamas, "will be your Halloween buddy for years to come." Squeeze his paw and he giggles and says "Happy Halloween!" Sinister.
4. Gingerbread haunted house: The Christmas-ization of Halloween continues. In addition to the classic garlands of skulls and jack-o'-lanterns, now there are little black Halloween "trees" from which one can hang Halloween ornaments. Check out this Halloween "haunted" gingerbread house kit from Williams Sonoma. It has sickeningly sweet sugar ghosts and completely unterrifying sugar bats, who look like sucking blood is the last thing on their minds. That "RIP" on the headstone isn't fooling anyone. Also super un-scary: their candy corn cookies.
3. Cupcakes: Is that a worm wiggling its way out from the top of this Bristol Farms Halloween cupcake? Yes, it is. Is it gross? No. It is an adorable little gummy worm nestled in a happy sea of chocolate buttercream.
