The Best in Restaurant Signage: Thanks, "Jewish People"

The sign, Northampton
The world is full of restaurant signs warning customers not to do things. Wear a shirt or leave. Order correctly or be yelled at. If your food sucks, don't ask for a refund because you won't get one. With all the negativity, it's refreshing to see an example of restaurant signage that celebrates customers, specifically those of a particular faith. In the case of this, we don't know much about its provenance. Someone snapped a picture somewhere, posted it to Facebook, and subsequently half the Jewish people in America started sending it bouncing through news feeds like a runaway pot-sticker.

We knew a guy in college who made a point of explaining why everything was funny. Often his habit made funny things less funny. There's no need to offer much more than the picture itself (which is quite possibly a hoax), but we will say that being partially of the tribe ourself, we appreciate the notion that the oft-angry, oft-vengeful Old Testament deity may have at some point "insisted" that his followers have dim sum on the day of that nice carpenter's birth.

LOVE! And may I say, as a Jew who has many times eaten Chinese food on Christmas day, there are plenty of dishes without pork!

The Hanukah ham is REALLY a photo taken at Balducci's a few years ago (which, being a "high end" NYC store makes it much funnier than if it had really been Walmart, IMHO.)

This is very nice but a huge dicotomy.... Most Chinese food is filled with Pork and MSG....hmmm and to top it off  to the author of this article.... if you do your research , Yeshua ben Yosef was not born on that day but rather he was concieved on that day.... His birth would have been according to written testimony in the September-October time period.  Search it out and you will see.....

Pork isn't trayf if eaten in a Chinese restaurant on Christmas. Everyone knows that exemption. Even my orthodox parents.

Wow, Something humerus turned into Debate.  Congrats!  *Although you are correct in Jewish name of "Jesus", you are wrong about the date of conception of the man that Christians believe to be Jesus.  His date of conception was around the Solstice and therefor his birth would be in the range of December or January.  This is the reason that some people, depending on the calendar they follow" celebrate his birthday in January around the 7th.  Realistically the celebration of most peoples birthdays from that time period are actually the celebration of their entering Man/womanhood and not the celebration of their birth.  Therefor it could have been any day around the actual celebration of their birth.  Besides,  It was a LONG freaking time ago, who cares when people decide to celebrate it if you don't even believe in him.

That being said I think that sign is freakin hilarious!!!
