[Update] 800 Degrees Opening in Westwood: From Umami to Pizza

Burgers just aren't enough for Adam Flesichman. The Umami Burger impresario, who's also getting ready to debut UMAMIcatessen in downtown L.A., has partnered with Anthony Carron and his Umami cohort Allen Ravert in 800 Degrees, a Neapolitan Pizzeria that will open its first location in Westwood in early January 2012.
The joint will be anchored by a "proprietary wood-burning oven" that cooks the pizza in about a minute. The 70-seat restaurant will also offer wine and craft beer. If it's a success, look for a whole lot more 800 Degrees to sprout up à la the Umami Burger model.
