Get a LudoBites Reservation for Valentine's Day: Make Your Pitch in the Comments Section -- You Have 48 Hours Starting Now

Ludo's uni crème brûlée
Since we just named LudoBites as the most Romantic Restaurant in L.A., and thus perhaps the place to take your date for Valentine's Day -- assuming you have a date, assuming your date is not a PETA spokesperson -- it seemed kind of cruel and heartless not to enable this in some way. Thankfully Krissy Lefebvre just told us that there are 2 spots open for the night in question, at both the 6 p.m. seating and the one at 8:15 p.m. Lucky you!

In order to make this more interesting than just going to UrbanSpoon and trolling for open spots -- which you should normally do, since Lefebvre told us that there were 11 cancellations yesterday that UrbanSpoon efficiently rebooked -- we thought we'd have a little contest. For the next 48 hours you can go to the comments section of this post and make your pitch for why you should get the Valentine's Day reservations.

Come on, have some fun. Does your beloved sleep with a framed photo of Marc Meneau under her pillow? Does he make foie gras cupcakes every weekend morning? Do you have a rooster tattooed on your arm too? Make something up. On Friday afternoon Krissy will determine who gets the reservations (there are two, one at each seating; please stipulate which one you want). Another incentive: LudoBites isn't having a special jacked-up Valentine's Day menu, but will be serving what they serve every night. And, although you will not get a free meal out of this little experiment, dessert will be on the house. How romantic is that?

Last year my girlfriend and I both have stepped on cat poop and dog poop, respectively.  To me, these fortunate accidents represents good luck.  Even some people calls it stepping onto a goldmine.  I am hoping that for us to both step on these poops may mean that we are fortunate enough to participate in spending Valentines day at Ludobites.  We would prefer the 8:15 reservation

Hi there Chef!! I am a self-professed foodie but my boyfriend is not. I would LOVE to see him squirm (hopefully with delight!) as he tries the crazy amazing concoctions you guys come up with! (eg. Uni Creme Brulee)

Also I have been trying and trying to score reservations for the past few years to LudoBites, but always with no luck. I am literally DYING to go! (Got a bout of food poisoning yesterday and am currently on a diet of jello and Sprite...bLAH).

My stomach and I would be so incredibly grateful if we were chosen for reservations on Valentine's Day. It'd be so incredibly sweet and romantic for us.  Thanks for thinking of us!! =)

A great excuse for a mini vacation with my personal chef :) A perfect way to say thank you for all the amazing food he cooks!!

My dearest and I have a pseudo-suicide pact where we agree to die by consuming as much foie, uni and rillettes as possible. Pork belly certainly adds flavor to life, but it's really the one I love who makes it worth living-- and if I'm going to shuffle off this mortal coil via my weakness for all the things Chef Ludo prepares, well then this Sid Vicious is taking her Nancy with her (in the nicest, most deliciously decadent way possible, of course). This would be the most amazing meal for us ever. HEVER.

(After seeing the two of you on Sundance Channel, we swore that if we were able to make it to a LudoBites we would have shirts made up that said "Best LudoBites ever!" on one, and "Hever!" on the other. I promise we'll make these and wear them proudly to dinner!).

We would feel blessed to be chosen for either reservation time. Thank you for reading all of our impassioned pleas!

p.s. either seating would be just lovely. Each more lovely than the other.

My wife and I, when we were dating, had one of the best nights of our lives at Ludobites 5.0. One of those meals where the food and the experience just remind you how special your date is to you and why you're dating them in the first place. When Ludobites 6.0 came around, I wanted more than anything to propose to her over a meal so reminiscent of that perfect evening, but couldn't score a damn reservation! I ended up giving her the ring in a painfully boring manner at home and she never got the romantic, unforgettable proposal she so deserves. We have not been able to get back into Ludobites since our initial fateful meal, and nothing would make us happier (and, by extension, everyone we encounter for at least two weeks) than being able to celebrate our love and our approximate 15-month anniversary at Ludobites 8.0.  Sorry for all these words, I just wanted someone to KNOW.

Because my husband of almost 8 years is an amazing dad who studies the internet every night for interesting recipes (after working all day!) and feeds me delicious food while I watch our 8 month old. Because we have not had a romantic evening out since the birth of said 8 month old. Because we LOVE chef Ludo and Krissy, and our kids are the same age...that's somehting, right? Because we will take any seating. Seriously. We'll eat in the bathroom. In the parking lot. On the roof.

My wife fell for me when I made her pork belly rillettes, she regularly buys me things like methylcellulose for Valentine's Day gifts, and we put an immersion circulator on our wedding registry. (We are well-qualified modernist Francophile food lovers.)Eating at LudoBites will help us accomplish our goal of eating at all the Gold 99. (We love you LA Weekly food people.)I will definitely get laid, despite being full of foie gras and other goodness. (This needs no explanation, right?)Either seating would be great.

PS:  Les dragons de Los Angeles sont flexible (trop de yoga!)  I'd be grateful for the V-day reservation at either available time slot, but 8:15 would be ideal!  :)

One word: Dragon.  It's the Chinese Year of the Dragon, and I'm told that being a double dragon in the Year of the Dragon is good luck.  Please prove it to me!!  (Because doesn't everyone want to get lucky on Valentine's Day?)  Horoscope lore claims that dragons move from calm & collected to combustible in a matter of seconds, and I will surely combust like bruleed crystals if I miss out on LudoBites this year.  Pleae throw a dragon a bone...er, or...a bone-in-filet?   :)

I'd like, for a change to be the one in the relationship to do something nice. I've been with my boyfriend for about a year now and I've been unemployed for the most part of it and since being with my boyfriend every outing of ours has consisted of him paying for both of us. It's been pretty hard to for me. I've honestly sold all of my most cherished belongings on eBay since we got together just to make this Valentines day a very special one. He's fat so I know he'd love this. Please and thank you.

I would LOVE this chance because my husband and I both look like giant creme brulees and will be starting our most romantic endeavor ever on February 15th: our diets! Oh, and we'll take any seating....

I forgot to sign up for the Ludobites Reservation raffle.  If I don't get this table my wife is going to murder me.  Help!

Because three of my closest friends have recently ended their long-term relationships and I, "the single one" have gotten swamped with being ultra supportive. I frequently have to purport to them - with conviction - that "being single ain't so bad!" None of them buy it, yet still expect me to be there for them while they relive every happy moment and pore over every sign of where it might have gone wrong (which I am happy to do, don't get me wrong)! But... I am emotionally TAPPED OUT and would just like to eat some dinner on V-day in peace with a platonic foodie friend without having to frantically make sure that they're not slitting their wrists somewhere. 9 pm, please!

Because just a few nights ago, I surprised my boyfriend of four years with a visit (I live in OC, he lives in LA) and had the great joy of findng him coming home from his date with another girl in tow. Horrifyingly awkward doesn't even begin to describe that precise moment. I would love and appreciate a culinary distraction on Valentine's Day instead of sitting at home and flogging myself for apparently having been with the world's biggest scumbucket for the last four years. Thanks for the consideration!

Because my girl and I have tattoos on our chests for wedding rings but hardly see one another because we both work in the food industry. (I run a restaurant in west hollywood and she is a room service server downtown) We've been together 11 yrs and are 31. 17 of it spent in restaurants. Plus we once had a threesome with a porkbutt.

One word: Twins!  Two 8 year old twins.  We have twins; Ludo has twins.  We NEED to get away.   Ok... Did I mention Twins.  No sleep...  No nights out...  Sort of slightly out of our minds at this point.  Why?  Because we have Twins.  One girl; one boy.  Never stop moving.  Twins!  We can share war stories.  Chef Ludo can make us a great meal, and I will explain to him tricks to keep them in sight when they start to walk.  Did I mention out Twins?

Would love these two seats. Do we need to bring our own sub-titler or will one be provided? What is the usual tip for a sub-titler?

My husband is French and I am American (sound familiar?!) and we are OLD SCHOOL fans of Ludo's FrancoStyle.  Alas, we have been shut out of the last 2 Bites, and my husband has been SLAMMED opening his very own French wine bar in our little nook of Venice, ZINQUE.  I would LOVE to drag him away (for just one night!) from looking after others, and I know he would only break away for The Best.  It’s LudoBites, or I will end up in my PJs eating takeaway in front of the TV on VDay. Either seating works, and we will BRING THE FUN!

While lovey dovey couples will be celebrating their love and what not on Valentines day, my friends and I want to celebrate our independence, friendship, and self worth. What better way than to treat ourselves to foie gras and everything else ludobites has to offer!! Any seating will be fine! :) Cheers to all those who have been put down by someone else, taken advantage of, mistreated, etc and then gotten back up! With the help of the 3 f's (family, friends, foie gras), anyone can find love and happiness!!

We just relocated to the LA area last year and have not been able to dive into the culinary world as much as I would have liked to since I have been struggling with starting my own business. Now that things are starting to pick up I would love to take my boyfriend of 9 years out to our second ever Valentines Day dinner (you know, the first year you do all that jazz and then afterwards you just start cooking at home, no need to impress, not that my food isn't impressive but you know what I mean, I think.) I've been looking around at what I wanted to sink my teeth into when I came across this Ludobites opportunity. Are you kidding? I've wanted to try Chef Ludo's food for years now. I keep meaning to chase down LudoTruck, but time has not been on my side. I'd take any seating, but 8:15 would be more logical, it's late, the stars will be twinkling, and we can get there and home without a lot of sitting in traffic. btw...Can I ask Chef Ludo to make me Fish & Chips? :-)

I would love to go for so many reasons! My husband and I have been happily married for 11 years and have become foodies together; it is only appropriate that we celebrate the day of love with a night crafted by an inspiration to foodies everywhere, Chef Ludo! This is the 8th time I have tried, in vain, to secure reservations to enjoy the sumptuous meal. I feel I must have some of Chef's Foie before it is too late!

Perhaps the Lefebvres would also like to show a little love to public education (I am a high school english teacher) by allowing me to dine at their place, on a school night! ;)

Due to living in the far reaches of the Valley, I would prefer the later seating, but will take whatever I can get. Thanks for reading!

My husband and I had our first date on Valentine's Day 2000. We have now been married for over 6 years with two children and always enjoy taking a break when Valentine's Day comes around. We've immersed ourselves in foodie culture. We both tried foie gras for the first time on New Year's Eve and were immediately disappointed that it will be illegal in California come July and hope to be able to try Ludo's take on foie before that happens. After these 12 years together, I would love to take my husband to a fantastic dinner at Ludobites on Valentine's Day since we were unable to get a reservation in the lottery. And if we are selected, we'll take the 8pm seating! Thanks!

I want reservations at LudoBites for my wife and me, because I will make every other guy in the room look much better, thus increasing their chances of getting lucky on Valentine's Day. The people should support me!

Since having my son I barely have anytime to do anything, I cant even go to the MOVIES!!! I would love to share LudoBites with my girlfriend. I was lucky enough to get a table at LudoBites 5 & 6, and they were far and away the best eating experiences of my life, but this was before we were together, and she has no idea what these meals were like. I recruited a group of 8 people to try to help us get a table at LudoBites8 to no avail. We would take either seating. I'll stop begging now.

Because i basically forced my frenchman to move to LA from an little French island, Guadeloupe, and he has only had me to speak French with  (bless his coeur) and i think it would just be really awesome for him to get out, maybe parlez a little francais, and eat an extremely talented chef's amazing food.  Maybe make him love my city a little more...Oh! and it would be our first date night since our beautiful, sweet Zoe was born and i think it's time for him to get a peek of cleavage without Zoe's head in the way!   lolthank you and we have absolutely no preference as to when we come..you tell us, we show up!

Au revoir!

I'll give you 3 reasons:

(1) Because eating anything by Chef Ludo, like his famous panna cotta with caviar and salted butter caramel sauce or porchetta with a side of broccolini and garlic confit, is like eating an orgasm...if one could eat an orgasm and if eating an orgasm was a desirable thing to do (IT IS).

(2) Because the copious "O" faces and tears of gratefulness that will be shed at the table by myself and my date over the amazing meal to be had will lead to high praise for LA Weekly and Chef Ludo...and probably much later, an orgasm - of the generic variety of course.

and (3) More seriously, I've been a serious admirer of Chef Ludo and his work and dream of being anywhere near as successful a chef. I haven't been able to try his food and always seem to miss opportunities to do so. I'm also an admirer of his wife Kristine, for being a strong female role model in the field of law as well as an inspiring cancer survivor.

My boyfriend and I moved to LA two years ago after 6 years in New York City.  I'm constantly amazed by the culinary landscape in this city, but have yet to really wow him.  The last year was really tough, as I was out of work and we were unable to enjoy this city in the way we would have liked to.  I couldn't afford to buy him a Christmas present OR a Birthday Present.  All he said for Christmas was that he would love for me to be able to take him to a nice dinner some day.  That really broke my heart a little bit.  I'm employed now, thankfully, but still catching up from the last year.  But I would really like to do something special for him to thank him for being there for me over the last year.   Please help me do something really special for the most special person in my life.

My boyfriend knows how much I love unique dining experiences and getting to every new LA restaurant opening (it's kind of part of my job...), so when a friend offered him a prime Ludobites reservation (830 PM on a Friday), he was so excited to surprise me. Unfortunately I had made a promise to a friend and despite the scarcity of said reservation, I had to pass to keep my word. It broke my heart (and stomach). Now, I'd love to be able to make it up to him and show him how touched I was by his efforts with a reservation for Valentine's Day (at 815 PM). Pick me, please!

Oh my goodness! My fiance and I have been long-distance for a while and he has finally made the move from Montreal to LA to live with me and my daughter who he takes such great care of. I'd love to be able to celebrate the wonderful man he is and show my appreciation for the sacrifices he has made by taking him to LudoBites for Valentine's Day!
